the9thconfiguration
CM Glasgow is only my second convention - last month's LFCC was my first and I've got the bug - and I wondered if it's the same story with the long queue for the 11am admission for the masses. The reason I ask is this time around I'll be be joined by my wife and wee girl and I don't them to queue for an hour just to guarantee me a photoshoot with Alice Krige at 11:15am. I also don't want to pay an extra £10 for 2x early bird tickets for a family outing that will likely last 90mins (my wee girl's a very difficult 2yrs old!). So is it okay to buy 2x standard admission tickets and start queuing at 10:45am. And before you comment, no I can't attend the Sunday and yes I want my daughter to queue with me so we can have our pic taken together with the Borg Queen =-) 9thC
gebes
CM Glasgow is at the moment, a MUCH smaller event than LFCC. So I wouldn't expect to Q for ages to get in. I would think that arriving at 1045 would be ok, but if there looks to be a problem, locate one of the crew members and explain to them, and they should see you right. Thanks for the speedy reply gebes, that's good to know about the scale of the event. I also wondered about young children and photoshoots and does a toddler/parent combo count as 1 photoshoot? 9thC
gebes
I'm afraid I can't actually remember what the general rule of thumb is for children needing a ticket to be in a photoshoot, it could be something like 5 and over will need a ticket, but under 5 you're ok, but don't quote me on that one. There's never a moderator around when you actually do want one That's actually a question that should be considered for addition to the photoshoots section of the website . So in the meantime, I'd merely suggest this time once you've got inside the event, the information booth which is generally where the photoshoot tickets are sold, would be your best bet for advice on your toddler being in the photo. Hope this helps you somewhat, I'm aware it does look like I'm just volunteering others , but I know from experience , that the crew and or those on the info booth, will keep you right . Queen_Sindel
There's never a moderator around when you actually do want one Contrary to popular belief even moderators do sleep. Your post contained all the info needed anyway, so I don't really have anything useful to add. It depends on the age of the child if a ticket is needed in a photosession. Wee girl and toddler do sound like the child in question will fall under the what Jola once called "babes in arms" rule and wouldn't need a ticket. It's a good idea to get that info added to the photoshoot part of the website. I'll pass it on.
