Hello all...

I was just wondering if anyone wanted to meet up on the friday? Usually there is abit of a wait inbetween things on the friday, after resistration, and for people going on their own it would be a good chance for people to get to know each other and have a natter and a drink.

I can't remember when we're getting there (I don't have our train tickets, my friend does...) but I'm pretty sure we'll be up for that.

One thing we've done at the Hub events when we have our Friday meetups is make up sticky labels with forum/LJ/etc names and 'real' names on so people can identify everyone more easily. Might be an idea if anyone is interested.

Yeah, that would be a good idea. Shame we didn't think of it earlier, we could have made tshirts! Oooh.

Well we could always make it about 5-6ish then hopefully the majority of people will be there?! I'm not to sure whats around the hilton, but we maybe meet in the hotel reception or somewhere like that??

A meet up sounds good    I like the sticker idea too, will be much easier to figure out who is who What time do the Friday night parties usually start?  About 8? I've only been to ET2 and I can't remember that far back!  But anyway, if so 5/6ish sounds good and the main bar sounds like a good place to meet.

Usually the opening ceremony is at about 7, with the party then at about 8.30.

Friday meetups in hotel bars that I've been to before (Hubs 2, 3 & 4, so not a huge sample) have usually started at, well, whenever the first people got there (around lunchtime generally...) and just grew in size until 6ish when people started to drift off to find food before the opening ceremony.

Simple plan.

Everyone prints off an A4 peice of paper with ROADHOUSE printed on it as large as you can.

The first one there puts in on the table. That way anyone arriving after that knows it's ROADHOUSE people on that table and can join in. As you get more tables, just put a sign on each table.

Makes it simple for new people to know you're there for the show, costs next to nothing and takes away the need for a specific time

I think we should do what he says and just bring a piece of paper, then whoever is in the reception can come and sit with us all!

Yep! There's a bit at the top that says something like 'personalize a gift/t-shirt'

Quick question, after the opening ceremony how much time is there to go and get ready before the party?

Normally about an hour. Opening ceremony is usually about 19:00-19:30, party usually starts about 20:30

I am definitely interested in meeting up, providing I don't get cold feet as I can be quite shy at times and people mistake it for just being weird :headscratch:
