Cost of a taxi from Braehead to Glasgow Bus Station?

Don't much fancy spending 4 hours or so at Buchanan Bus Station before the coach back so does anyone have any idea how much a taxi would cost from Braehead to there? I was thinking of plonking myself down in the Wetherspoons for a few hours for dinner and a drink or two. If it'll cost too much I'll just have to lump a long, boring wait at the station. Many thanks!

I'd get the bus I think it could even be about £20 to be honest, depends how fast the taxi goes lol

Yikes! The last bus from Braehead leaves before 6 pm on Sunday from what I can see and the idea of spending four+ hours in a bus station doesn't fill me with much glee, especially since any food there stops at 7 pm and my coach leaves around 10.30pm ::sighs:: Don't know the area at all so have no idea if there is anywhere near that is safe and nice-ish to spend the time whilst waiting for the coach back down south of the border. Thanks for the reply! Make have to re-think plans...

There's Cineworld, the world's tallest Cinema right across the road from Buchanan Bus Station, so if you have to spend four hours at least you can go see a movie in between. Also, Bus Station is in City Centre so you can go to a Wetherspoons 5-10 min walk from Bus Station or any other pubs etc

More options! Am always a bit worried going into pubs in a place I don't know as a single female (thought the Wetherspoons in Braehead might not be too bad) but was just saying to a friend I haven't been to the cinema enough this year so that gives me a choice! Thanks once again to all leaving advice. Truly appreciated!

Buchanan bus station (and glasgow central and queen street train stations) are right smack dab in the middle of an area just chock full of shops/pubs/restaurants/etc. You won't be short of something to do around there.

That's the same thing for me on the Sunday - our crewing day finishes at 7ish and my bus doesn't leave till 11 something, so I'm going to have about 4 hours of doing nothing too.

BTW angie my pal owns a tattoo parlour in Belshill (not too far away from glasgow) and I know my way around like the back of my hand, im free all day like u till three lol was wondering if u wanted to coem with me (if i get it) and have a wee look around glasgow? There's this place called Lauders just a 5 min walk fromt he bus station cracking food and dead cheap too :D and i need a new long sleeved top from primark lol

Last time I got a taxi back after breakdown it cost 11 as far as central trick is to sound like you know how much it should be and that you know the route n there less likely to rip you off

I've got a taxi a couple of times in the last week - black cab from Glasgow to Renfrew (close enough to Braehead) was £20, local cab was £10.20.

Random local cab companies are:

Braehead Radio Cars - http://www.braeheadradiocars.co.uk/ - 0141 886 1111

Arkleston Radio Cars - http://www.arklestonradiocars.co.uk/ - 0141 886 3333

Renfrewshire Cab Co - http://www.renfrewshirecabco.co.uk/ - 0141 886 6666

Buses from Braehead to the bus station (via M8):

http://www.mcgillsbuses.co.uk/

Mcgills X23 - last bus is about 16:44 on Sunday

Mcgills X6A/X7 - last bus is about 18:59 on Sunday

Mcgills 907 - last bus is about 17:55 on Sunday

Buses from Braehead to the bus station (via Partick):

http://www.firstgroup.com/

First 747 - last bus is about 22:45 on Sunday

Other options (that go to Glasgow but not all the way to the bus station):

http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/

Arriva 23/24/25/26

Walk:

It's about 2 hours 10 minutes from Braehead to Glasgow (via Ibrox), depending how quickly you walk :)
