thefreckles
Don't much fancy spending 4 hours or so at Buchanan Bus Station before the coach back so does anyone have any idea how much a taxi would cost from Braehead to there? I was thinking of plonking myself down in the Wetherspoons for a few hours for dinner and a drink or two. If it'll cost too much I'll just have to lump a long, boring wait at the station. Many thanks!
phenix00princess
I was under the impression it would cost from £10 - £15. Although I cant say for certian. I'll be going from Braehead to Glasgow Central, about the same distance. Was thinking of getting a bus to save on costs.
talie
I'd get the bus I think it could even be about £20 to be honest, depends how fast the taxi goes lol
thefreckles
I'd get the bus I think it could even be about £20 to be honest, depends how fast the taxi goes lol Yikes! The last bus from Braehead leaves before 6 pm on Sunday from what I can see and the idea of spending four+ hours in a bus station doesn't fill me with much glee, especially since any food there stops at 7 pm and my coach leaves around 10.30pm ::sighs:: Don't know the area at all so have no idea if there is anywhere near that is safe and nice-ish to spend the time whilst waiting for the coach back down south of the border. Thanks for the reply! Make have to re-think plans... Edited August 14, 2010 by thefreckles

There's Cineworld, the world's tallest Cinema right across the road from Buchanan Bus Station, so if you have to spend four hours at least you can go see a movie in between. Also, Bus Station is in City Centre so you can go to a Wetherspoons 5-10 min walk from Bus Station or any other pubs etc

Am always a bit worried going into pubs in a place I don't know as a single female (thought the Wetherspoons in Braehead might not be too bad) but was just saying to a friend I haven't been to the cinema enough this year so that gives me a choice! Thanks once again to all leaving advice. Truly appreciated! Edited August 14, 2010 by thefreckles
Purple_Vamp
That's the same thing for me on the Sunday - our crewing day finishes at 7ish and my bus doesn't leave till 11 something, so I'm going to have about 4 hours of doing nothing too. Moderators etmuse Posted August 15, 2010 Moderators Share Posted August 15, 2010 Buchanan bus station (and glasgow central and queen street train stations) are right smack dab in the middle of an area just chock full of shops/pubs/restaurants/etc. You won't be short of something to do around there.
