Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted August 11, 2010 Showmasters Admin Share Posted August 11, 2010 We are pleased to announce our next guest, Colin hoped to join us in Birmingham earlier in the year but was unable to make the show. We are pleased he can now join us in London. Colin Cole Warrant Officer Warrant Officer Colin Cole Hon Secretary of the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association and also a wartime member of No 617 Squadron having taken part in the raid that sank Tirpitz in November 1944 as a Wireless Operator. He remained with No 617 Squadron until January 1946 and also took part in the preparations for the 'Tiger Force'. Interestingly, Colin Cole actually flew in Guy Gibson's Lancaster 'AJ-G' used on the Dams Raid - this he did post war as part of the RAF's plan to dispose of the spare 'bouncing bombs' by dropping them out at sea, shortly afterwards the Lancaster was scrapped. Furthermore Colin Cole also flew some of our MF6 covers over the Mohne Dam on the 60th Anniversary of the Rams Raid.
