Some of it is that, but mostly they're reliant on when a guest will agree to commit and return a contract. Sometimes guests don't agree until closer to the date, when they have a better idea of their schedule as regards to any filming etc. they might be involved in.

I would say that it's quite early to be worrying about when we get another guest etc for this event.
It's pretty much the newest event they have, so it's certainly going to take time to get the whole guest lineup together.
Obviously selling more tickets will help, but it's far too early to be expecting ME to suggest they need to sell more before you get another guest.

I agree 100%.
ME are constantly working on getting guests for us but it can take time. Sometimes the guests can't commit until quite close to the event for the reasons that etmuse has stated. Other times it can be that the contracts take a long time to negotiate.
Personally, I'm not concerned about the lack of guests at this stage. There are still nearly five months to go so there's loads of time yet. And the best guests often don't get announced until quite close to the event.

For those who do not go to conventions specifically for the guests that is fine but I am afraid I only go when a good guest is announced who I want to meet and anything else is a bonus so I won't be parting with my hard earned notes until there is at least 1 guest I want to meet!

I do not think there is a frustrating cycle going on here. So far they have announced two guests for a show that is way way off. I would imagine, like CM, a lot of guests will be announced nearer the time. It is just a matter of patience. Look at how close we got Patrick Stewart befre the event itself. 3 weeks right?
ME seem to do stacks of events so I would bet they know exactly what they are doing.

regarding actors, humm alot of them are booked up right now for various cons around the world, nimoy and the Shatner for loads, the earlier you ask the better in my opinion.
im sure at the end this will have a good line up but for me to drop one of the above mentioned events it needs something special and really no matter how good I think only nimoy could do that for me im afraid and he would have to be announced before i spent a fortune on dimensions lol

Same as for me. With the wedding and the busiest time at work, I am lucky to be able to attend CML on the Sunday only. I am hoping next year they do this on May or June time as I will defianetly attend.
I want to support Warp 10 as the Idea of doing a Star Trek Convention in the UK is a great idea. I pesonally hope it happens year in, year out. Good luck with this one though.

I'm enticed by Jennifer Lien and Diana Muldaur, as I'd really like to meet both of them, they are on my 'to meet' list. However I'm in the same boat of being a little aprehensive about parting with my money before we've had more guests announced. I'm also someone who doesn't look particularly great in spandex so I don't think I'll be dressing up Starfleet style if I do make it to Warp 10!
