Ive had enough and wont be attending this year. Instead im spending my loot to go to the london film and comic-con where the guests are worthy of their autograph fees. Last years biggest star was robert picardo, london has william shatner. NO CONTEST!! ATTENDANCES IN SCOTLAND WILL CONTINUE TO DWINDLE UNLESS BETTER GUESTS ARE THERE! Because you're socialising, and being entertained. Collectormania should be like American cons - A big, geeky, nerdy, awesome party! An excuse to hang out with like-minded folk, and maybe even do and see some stuff you wouldn't or couldn't normally do or see. It just so happens that there's also a big room to buy cool stuff in, and there might even be some movie and TV stars there to meet! If someone doesnt watch buffy or angel they wont know who they are. William Shatner for example is HOUSEHOLD name, you know who he is whether yer a trek fan or not. Thats yer difference. And for the record guys im not trying to start a fight here, just stating opinion, which a forum is for, discussion. Being the market im in, the larger traders wont come to glasgow simply because it is a low key event and doesnt have anywhere near the same revenue. Go to london..money better spent. It's just pointless complaining about it again and again on these forums because, owned and operated by Showmasters as they are, the same criticisms being levelled again and again end up simply becoming counterproductive. We're not "Easily pleased" - We're just resigned for now. If each show grows a little on the last, that's fair enough. We've been promised that the show WILL continue to grow, so unless you think that Showmasters are engaged in some evil machiavellian plot to fool us all, we know we will get gradually bigger guests at each show. We've gone over this s*** at least twenty seven million times and yet everytime a noob creates an account and brings up the same crap (hey, ever heard of lurking before posting? Or, hell, just READING OLD THREADS?) we go back over it and eventually everyone falls out. After several points were thrashed out in the Twilight guests thread, the "us vs them"/"this show sucks"/"we want better guests" crap should be over so I say this thread gets closed it and we move the frak on.
