Costuming question

So, I'm thinking about maybe making a Red Skull costume for August. For those not in the know, the Red Skull is Captain America's arch nemesis, and he looks like this:

The only problem I forsee is the fact that the Red Skull is a Nazi and this could be considered offensive by some. I'm not gonna be wearing anything explicitly Nazi - no swastikas or anything - but if I end up doing the costume, I will have a black suit, a plain red armband, a peaked cap, jackboot-style boots and an SS style leather trenchcoat as well as a replica broom handled Mauser and a cigarette holder. Nothing too obviously anti-semetic, but enough to get the character across. My question, obviously, is there gonna be any problems with my dressing as this character?

If I don't remember totally wrong I saw someone costumed as Kroenen from Hellboy around at least at one LFACC. If Kroenen wasn't a problem I can't see why Red Skull should be one.

But yes, ultimately this is a question for TurkFox.

With someone as obviously "FANTASY BADDIE!" as the Red skull or Kroenen, I'd even ( Personally ) be OK with swastikas, so long as they were on the original costume.

What I do find completely offensive is the display of such stuff out of context - One idiot that used to help out at Section 8 thought it was perfectly OK to daub them on walls when we built stuff, and I had to have words with another guy who wore them on modern day German camouflage.

Neither fool is welcome on the site any more.

But aye - In context, it'd be a judgement call on the part of the event organiser, and I'd have no problem either way.

How you planning to do the skull?

That's what I thought when Vicky happened to mention this thread. Personally, I think that if you are portraying a comic book character like Red Skull who happens to be a Nazi it would be fine. At the end of the day it's an aspect of the character. However, I totally understand why others might not feel the same way.

That's the real trick. Planning on doing some lo-fi makeup tests - I've hardly got a skelatal face, so it may prove impossible with just makeup.

You'd be surprised!

Oh, and CWhite, I LITERALLY lol'd at the James Wallace thing, but didn't you hear the news that's going to rock the world of wrestling to it's core, brother? He's not gay, he was on Take Me Out!

I'd love to see him rock the core of British Wrestling. Only so I could read more scandal and gossip. As long as everyone kept their eyes on their wallets.

I just hope that ga fetish wrestling video is still online.

Oh, and Miss Wyld? These are pants...

And these... these are trunks...

And those trunks are so powerful, they sustain the lives of several of the original owners ex wives.
