We need to keep in contact :) we're all quite good friends now aren't we? It wud be bad to lose sum twifriends.

Well, ET2 is only in a few weeks, so that forum will disappear not long after.

I have started a general rambling thread in ET3 figuring that is there til February, then we will migrate to the ET4 one and so on and so on.

Like they said, no getting away from us now :D

I never had tickets to ET2 and still hung around in the forum waiting for possible waiting list information, so why not hang around in ET3 until you can come to one again :P

It doesn't just disappear, it just gets moved down to the "Previous Events" section way down towards the bottom of the main page that lists all the forums.

yeah, sorry, thats what i meant

just takes some scrolling too, so I guess more poeple post on the current forums?

It is a really friendly forum, its been great, would be nice if it did carry on, but lots of people are already posting on ET2 and ET3

Do people carry on posting in the forum when an event has finished? I imagine it peters off a little?

Certainly there's an element of out of (immediate) sight, out of mind, whjich means people tend to move on to the next forum.

It does peter out a bit, but to some extent I think it depends on how people access the forums. If people just come to the main page for the forums and tend to select forums from the "forthcoming events" listing, then yes they won't tend to go to the old one.

However, if they are subscribed to a thread in the old forum, or are set up to monitor the whole forum, then no doubt notifications of new posts probably prompt them to visit the old forum. Heck, for all I know the notifications contain a link to take you straight there - I've never used these options, so wouldn't know, but if you go to the top of the page immediately above the first post on any page, on the right hand side, you'll see a dropdown box labelled "Options" - click there and you'll see that you can either track that thread, or subscribe to the whole forum, and be e-mailed when somebody has posted. I suspect people that use those options probably tend to visit the "old" event forums more, as they'll be more aware that there is still activity there.

And just to add that these days places like Facebook are far more popular than when this forum originally started, and so after a while people do tend to keep in touch on other social networking sites.

This forum does go through busy periods and quiet ones too, based on when the events are etc.
