Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted September 1, 2009 Showmasters Admin Share Posted September 1, 2009 i would like to thank all the fans that attended this years event we could not do it with out you all so thanks you i would also like to thank the new local crew that offered to help us and we are so happy that so many of you got behind the event to help make it work with out you it would not have happened so thank you to i would also like to thank Reverend Scapegoat for being a great DJ have getting the fans on the dance floor "good job" next i would like to thank Turkfox for growing this years Cosplay masquerade which was busier than anyother years event so well done to her and all the cosplayers that took part i would also like to thanks all the costume groups that attended this years event you all do a great job and it helps make the event with letting people know its no in the shopping center so thanks so much guys there are loads more people that are very important to us i could thank and have missed so let me just say thank you to everyone for sticking with us and showing us you want this event to stay and for us to keep on running them now down to some facts this event was up 10% on August 2008 ( which is good news as we have to be able to afford bigger guest to help bring in more fans , this has happened and we will be spending more on guests for next years events all the dealers had a good weekend too which is also very good news , as they buy space and this helps to pay for the hall , we had just the right amount to cover the hall this time, if we get a few more we can use this to cover more adds and promotion for the show the event covered its costs this time and even made a little , which is great as we lost around £20,000 at the Dec event , we do not expect to get that back for some years but as long as each event covers its self or makes a little we can keep spending a little more each time and grow the event in every way, so this was a good show for future events at Glasgow the last few months have been very hard for some of you without jobs etc, and i know everyone has been holding back a little which is understandable but thank you for coming to the show and supporting us . we love running events and want to run really strong events were ever we go, its not something that that happens right a away it takes time , we have been running this event for 3 years now and even in recession we can grow it a little so we are very much committed to running this event and investing more next year to give the people of scotland a event to be proud of , we will not let you down . thanks for your support and we look forward to a bigger event next year take care Jason and the Showmarters team Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Twas cool to speak to you too - awesome shirt, by the way! Looking forward to next year already! I'll second that, but I can't agree on the shirt Good to hear the event did well, hopefully my help mentioned in email can be put to good use next year as it was a bit last minute this time round. Reverend Scapegoat Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Thanks Jason - I think tempers were running a bit high on the Saturday night but once everyone calmed down and sobered up, Sunday night's overall verdict was: "Awesome weekend." Speaking for myself, I've made some new friends, and cemented some old acquaintances into friendships as well. Thanks for the opportunity to display my prop collection - I meant to say to you, if you can give us and the Cosplay girls the same area next time, we will blow you and everyone else away. One thing I would say is..I was speaking to Film Cell and we had a little joke about a forum area..but I think that could really work...An area for forum members to meet up etc..cuz theres nothing worse than when you say you'll speak to someone and can't find them lol! Cocomando Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Jason , you guys at showmasters need tp give you'r selves a BIG pat on the back ( and thats putting it mildly) I had a whale of a time , I'm a member of the UK Garrison . Not only was i trooping outside the event but took along 2 more costumes as well , my Mandalorian (won the cosplay on sunday) and my steampunk one on saturday (dont think the crowds really got it though ) Glasgow University Steampunk Society asked me to join them as there were a few members there. To say i enjoyed my self is an under statment , met up with people that i've met at previous ones that i speak to on here and there now becoming friends . I trooped with the Guys in the UKG , i won a cosplay contest , my feet were sore , i was exhausted but what a buzz . you shouldn't be thanking us , we should be thanking you . i'm already working on a costume for next year thanks big guy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
