A real cracker of a guest to start the ball rolling on our James Bond theme
This is a world first signing and the lady in question is a rare signature

Eva Rueber-Staier - She was Miss World in 1969. She played Rublevitch (Russian version of Miss Moneypenny) in the James Bond films The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy. She also appeared in Carry on Dick as Birds of Paradise Entertainer and an episode of Space 1999. This is her first ever signing event






This is the first of many first time signers which we will be announcing over the coming weeks.

Would be great if you could track down the other Birds of Paradise from Carry On Dick - Laraine Humphrys has just attended a Carry On event so she's about.

Question to the organisers - there will be a number of Carry On fans arriving at the event together. Would there be any chance of doing deal for a large number of autographs? Or - instead - will you stick to the cost per item, so we will get far fewer autographs and spend far less money?

In answer to your question unless your group is very large indeed the price will be the same for everyone.
She is a rare signature and has never done a public signing but we will try to keep the cost down as much as possible.

Question to the organisers - there will be a number of autograph collectors arriving at the event together (we will all have purchased early bird tickets - I reckon there will be about 1000 of us, maybe more).  Would there be a chance of doing a deal for a large number of autographs? Any chance you can do them cheaper for us, or will we have to pay the same price as everybody else attending?  As you can tell, we want something for nothing, as we're very tight, even though your prices are already very reasonable, and we wouldn't get the chance to meet these great guests any other way.

In case you are wondering, I am being totally sarcastic!!

The point I am trying to make is that the event organisers have a choice to make. They can either continue to keep their autograph prices high, and be rigid in their prices, or they can be more flexible to do deals with people who have lots of items (there are a lot of my friends who fall into this category - and when I started going to these sorts of events things were more flexible). Those of us will either spend more money with certain guests if a deal is done - or bypass that guest completely, or spend very little with that guest.

And I refute the allegation of being tight or "wanting something for nothing".

Certainly sounds that way to me.  

I dont think their prices are high, I think they charge what they have to in order to get the guests we want.  Have you checked around at other organisers prices?  I know recently Scott Bakula for instance was charging £25 at LFCC, in the states he currently charges around $75 - about twice as much.

that right we keep the price down to what we think we need to charge to cover the cost of the guest flights and hotel , i tell you all , this event is a of labour love, and not a way of making money, it only just covers its self each time and the odd times it dose not even do that

and if you ask why do we do it then ? well some things you just cannot buy and the fact most of the guest now know me by my name and i get the chance to meet them it why i run this event and i know that the same for Dave and Paul , we love this event and for us all its our hobby

and we are glade some of you also like what we do as well

I maintain you could make even more money out of people like me (and there are lots of us) who will have multiple items for some people if you were more flexible in your pricing. Which would you prefer? Someone buying one autograph for £15, or multiple autographs for a reduced price? It's simple economics.

Does anyone know of another website like MovieMarket, which sells Eva Rueben-Staier 8x10 photos (which haven't been signed/autographed)? MovieMarket have only two photos of Eva Rueben-Staier available to buy (and they're very similar), and I doubt Statesidestills will have any photos of her.

Thanks for your help. I didn't think they would have unsigned photos, which is why I hadn't looked on Bond Collectables. That Eva Rueben-Staier photo (from Octopussy) looks good, but it has her signature underneath, and the price seems a lot when I want to have just the photo so I can get it signed at the event.

It doesn't have her signature on the bottom of the photo! They are unsigned photos on that link I posted!!

The reason the photos seem a bit pricey is because, you are paying for the exclusivity as these shots are hard to come by and are only (as far as I know) produced and stocked by Bondcollectibles.

Contact him and get him to quote you on the price of a single unsigned photo.

Will be interesting to meet Miss Rueber-Staier again. She did a PA in my home town Cambridge as part of an ITV event in the early 80's and signed my autograph book. Interesting to note she is a rare signature - I remember the huge amount of attention she received from the other young and not so young autograph hunters.
