His car didn't turn up. I got asked to go and get him. By the time I got there he'd been there for 3 hours in the bar. He was not a happy man. I then spent the one hour's drive to the hotel being informed over and over again how it wasn't good enough with increasing volume and the use of some very "interesting" language. You know he played the drill Sargent. Imagine having that volume in your ear from 18 inches away whilst you're trying to drive up the motorway at 70 mph. Was not an experience I'd like to repeat. Don't suppose you were given a reward for having put up with his mood?Not that it's any of my business but Al's car, which SM arranged I guess, didn't turn up and so Al blamed SM for that. Too Tall was SM's representative at that time so I think anyone would take it out on him. SM were responsible for getting Al picked up in his eyes. Shame really as he was a good stunt man and not that bad of an actor in the few roles he got, I especially liked his little role in the Doctor Who serial Remembrance of the Daleks.
