Is there a place to eat

Hi, as I wrote in another post, all you have at the location is the airport/train station/NEC complex and the various hotels. There's no 'shops' nearby, so it's a captive market and so the prices are expensive (there are food places at the airport for example, but its double what you'd normally pay)

There's a couple of small places around and about the complex, a subway outlet comes to mind by the station, but you'd be better heading into central brum if you want to get grub at a reasonable price.

Last year at Autographica at this hotel they laid on a special area for attendees where you could buy sandwiches, a small range of meals, crisps chocolate bars etc at pretty reasonable prices. It seemed quite popular but I'm not sure if they are going to do that again.

There's a Subway & a Weatherspoons a few minutes walkaway in the NEC (though from my past experience they seem to close up at 5pm)

There are also a number of eateries at Birmingham Airport which is about 10 mins walk, or if you're feeling lazy you could share a taxi.

According to the directory on the Airport website they have the following...

o Bar O8

o Burger King - Departure Lounge

o Costa Coffee - Dep Lounge

o D'Lish - Deli

o Est Presso

o Frankie and Benny's

o Gallery Bar

o Millies Cookies

o Pash! Deli

o Starbucks

o Wetherspoon - Landside

o World News Cafe

o Yates

Of course there are also a few restaurants in the hotel, they have 2 fancy restaurants (Boulevard Restaurant & La Primavera ), a gastro pub (Millers Gastro Pub), and you can order some food at the bar or room service 24hrs. However as many have said being the Hilton these are more expensive than usual.

The Hilton are putting on a special room were food and drink will be for sale at a reduced rate for attendees for both events

and its very nice of them to do so ;)

this way you do not have to go trompsing all around the place to get food at a good price

so see you there

If it's in the same room as the last event at the Hilton Metropole it's a MASSIVE room, honest. I thought it was one of the best things about Autographica last year. You could go and have a drink and something to eat in there and take as much time as you wanted to get your things ready to be signed.
