torchwoodangel93 Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 yeah, Ian was great!! it was like meeting a long lost friend..... but seeing as there was no pics of him ANYWHERE, not on the hub website, not in the booklet, we weren't sure who he was... lol, but then we saw Ian, and we were like "that must be Ian!!" and then we asked him if it was him then we started having a conversation about if he thought he looked like john, and what its like, being a body double. then he started telling us what hes had to do!! some weren't even stunts!! they were just stuff that john didnt want to do, cos their like gross. there was something to do with the hand in the jar that Ian had to do!! lol but yeah!! SatedenPrincess Posted January 4, 2009 Share Posted January 4, 2009 OMG i agree with everything on this forum i would like new gueast which we have we have 3 new guests but i would also like some old ones as to get to knw them again and see what they have done over the past 6 months. i wanna see how they have grown as people and actors. plus ian is amasing we had aomse great memories, especially the champain and the 5 am lift trip and the hang over and hes energy drink oh and the best was the empty child phonejacker ian. if u were there u know if not then u missed out and thats another reason he should come back so more ppl can get to see and know the ian we did. Torchwood Posted January 4, 2009 Share Posted January 4, 2009 Why does everyone keep going on about wanting new guests and not the same ones....i really want some of the old ones back...especailly people like Ian, Paul, Andy and Paul because they are what i class as 'safe' guests....these are the guys and gals who don't have a huge chip on their shoulder and who are not swallowed up by the word fame...the people who don't go urgh don't talk to me or excuse me don't you know who i am...they are the guests who you can just waltz upto and have a long decent conversation with. These guys are what really make an event because i for one cannot stand those in the fame game who are arrogant anf full of themselves and believe me i have encountered many of them. I mean put it into genuine perspective...how many of you actually held a long full conversation with John Barrowman....i wouldn't put my bets on many....i dodn't even get a chance to even chat with John at the cocktail party and yet my group had a very long and very, very funny chat with Ian Hilditch. John didn't get to talk as much as he was SO busy, and had people wanting to talk to him more then the other guests, and he really tried to talk to everyone, i had about 2 conversations with him, and they were both great. But i really agree with you about wanting the old guests back, of course not all of them to be the old ones, but then i don't want them to all be new ones. :) A good mix i think. Im sure theyre nice people to chat to, but as guests I just wasnt interested and would be very disappointed if Ive paid to see them for a second time. This show hasn't been running for very long, it doesn't have a HUGE guest list of stars, with everyone saying they don't want so and so back and they want someone new you are going to run out of guests pretty darn quick before you even reach a Hub 4. For people who say that weevil 2 & 3 weren't that interesting or great....everyone plays a part to make that show what it is...Torchwood ain't just about the fantastic blooming 5 aka Jack, Ianto, Owen, Tosh and Gwen or 6 if you add Rhys or even 7 if you wanna push for PC Andy, there is so much more behind the scenes as well, i suppose all of those who found the weevils uninteresting wouldn't find the likes of costume designers talking about how they dress the cast interesting either. So much attention is captivated on the cast whether that be the fabulous 5,6 or 7 etc. I don't see one person on here remarking at how great it would be to have a stunt co-ordinator appear as a guest or heck even some of the darn writers because without them we wouldn't have Torchwood to begin with. I personally was slightly dissapointed by the last main guests, especially the likes of Lachlan...ok he was nice to look at but heck he hardly said a thing during his time there or even on stage and neither did Sara.....she mainly giggled alot. They were lovely people don't get me wrong but for the money everyone pays i would at least expect the guests to make an effort cos we as sure make a hell of an effort.
