You were all amazing and I cannot thank you enough! Jason, Mark and the crew have done everyone proud as it could not have been better! *Secondly, I hope everyone will start to upload pics so we can share this magical weekend with eachother and those who unfortunately couldn't go! *Lastly, as I am shattered and cannot feel my feet... Anyone know the crew member in the Batgirl top?? Think her name may have been Hannah??? She was such a nice young lady who I am going to single out for special praise! (Not single by any chance!? ) Signing off for now, Mark (The one Kai Owen tried to 'out' during the Q&A but unfortunately for him, I am as straight as they come!) Oh and before I forget.... The play was priceless and being right at the front, sitting on the floor might I add, had a really good view and last night with Gareth... lol. Him running down the corridor of the hotel like a mad man (I am not saying why, if you were there you'd know why), ordering all of us to dance and then me and a few others marching over and getting him up to dance if we all had to, and then getting his driver to wait and him singing Bam, Bam. Woot go Gareth. All the other guests were brilliant as well. John was funny as always and we all know why kind of tone his talks take. Kai and Gareth on stage, funny and loveable. Naoko was also brilliant plus all the other guests. Bring on the Hub 2. They so need Blue Gillespie there and if they get Blue Gillespie get Disgracelands. The only difference is the lead singer. Yes I had mine and am very pleased with them especially when John asked his sister to sign my book as well. The Mis communication: I can't moan much because I had his auto but I did purchase extra autos for him at 11.15 on the Sunday and by the time I got back to the hall, the q had been shut. One crew member asked me to wait there and she would get them sent off and signed, 2 mins later the same crew said because I had already had one off him I was to go back for a refund. So back I went for a refund - I was told at first that I couldn't have the refund and could give them in to be signed and when I explained what had happened they gave me a refund. I know John had to go and I appreciate that but why wasn't the reception told to stop selling these spare tickets? They were still selling them at 11.30! I've been to quite a few cons, but this was my first Showmasters one. All the guests were great, the talks were great (albeit unrepeatable in places) and what can I say about Naoko Mori except: 'Awwwwwwww' Great to meet some new people (Hi to Chrissie, Jo, Lee, Leah and anybody else I met but forgot to ask their names), and get a load of dancing in - somehow I wound up the only man on a dancefloor of over a dozen women, and felt somewhat out of place during 'I will Survive' & 'It's Raining Men'... You'll deffinitly be seeing me at the hub 2! I would like to thank all the crew, who i think worked amazingly and listened to everything we had to say and made the con brilliant and fantastic, every second was amazing I would also like to thank all the guests for taking the time out to talk to us and spending time making our lives brilliant !! John B was great, even though I got all tongue-tied when I met him - can we get a practice run next time!! Made some great friends - Hi Andrew, Sarah & Jann!! - had a great photo of the 4 of us with John & pouting!! Am still flying high from this weekend - don't think I'll ever forget it - especially not the play on the Saturday night - squeee!!! Thanks guys. buffy2k Posted October 21, 2008 Share Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) Had a great time, thanks to everyone who worked hard to make it all go off well. really enjoyed the parties especially Saturday night (including the one in Captain Jacks Office) and appreciated the efforts with the hall as well in the evening the decoration was really good. Nice to see so many people dress up too. Guests were their usual great selves and good fun (probably wouldnt suggest this is for kids though) but we enjoyed it. The play was really fun too. Everything worked well except the schedule, difficult to understand the old system of 1-50 etc work better this group system was too complicated. Finally thanks to all my friends too for making it a special weekend you know who you all are and to everyone else i met. Will be back in March. Showmasters hosted an awesome event, and I meet alot of nice, awesome, cool people, and I miss them already! It's my birthday too during the Hub 2 (Friday the 13th - du du duhhhhh) lol. and mine too - well, the 14th - must be something in the water! lol I'm not gonna say which birthday it is, but apparently my life will begin... *just know I'm gonna regret saying that... * Can't believe I'm back in (what passes for) normality. Thank you so much to everyone - guests, attendees, everyone else I was too shy to speak to...I had a blast. I haven't had so much fun in ages! And my face still aches from laughing! Can I just say I thought it was an excellent idea to post questions so that idiots like me who are wayyyy too shy to stand up in public and talk could still contribute. (This was my thirteenth con and the first one I've managed to get a question out. ) Too much to mention individually, but the panels, the play, the general atmosphere... I already booked for the Hub 2, i'm just afraid JB won't be there this time, and really, that is never the same without him, he brings so much fun on stage, showman !! but, yeah .... can't wait for March !
