gebes
Answered in reply 1 I've not read that there are, but there's still plenty of time for stuff like this to be announced Whenever Jason or Mark decide to tell us ! Standard line time , guests can be announced right up to the event itself, take a look at the Hub, they're getting 2 surprise guests. I will admit it's been quiet for more guest announcements, but I would guess things will get moving fast after the Hub convention next weekend. I've seen this done where by you gamble with tokens rather than money itself, and turns of say a roulette wheel have different prizes , so if for example you bet on red 15 and the ball lands there, you win something, for the purposes of this answer, lets say you win a photoshoot or extra autograph. Phew, glad that's the end of your questions. !!!
jael001
As others have said, with 'fun' casinos you play with fake money or tokens and there are usually prizes for the winners. I work for a party company and we've organised a few of these for fundraisers and they can be great fun, especially as you're not at risk of losing any real money so everyone can have a go. Quinny83
Oh I do hope that there will be a freebie for those of us staying at the Park Inn, last time I missed out - I was staying elsewhere, managed to book a room at the park inn this time only because I booked 2 days after E1. Gold passes do have a priority seating section, which no one else can site in. This means even if they turn up half way through a talk they can this site in the first couple of rows (in a free seat). Silver passes do not have a reserved area! But Silver passes will be called in to the hall after the Gold passes and so as long as you are their when the hall is filled you will get a seat behind the Gold pass holders. The casino you get given £50 fake money at the start and the person with the most at the end of the evening wins. What they win I don't know at present. I have been to other casino themed nights where they give u fake money, and everyone gets to play with that, and there was prizes for those with the most at the end of the evening etc! A question from me.. Gold passes can go for autographs at any time, others go when they are called, but what about silver card holders?? Can you please show me where it says Gold Passes can go for autographs at any time? As far as I'm aware this is not the case. Gold passes are called the same as everyone else, they were at Eclipse 1. Silver passes will be the same. You will be called for autographs in groups of reg numbers. We can not allow people to just join any queue at any time, not even the gold pass holders as it would be impossible for us to manage the queues. lovbug
I seem to remember that this caused alot of problems last time. As far I know Golds were ment to go in when their groups were called, however they were allowed in before other non gold people in that group. However LOTS of gold people got all theor photos as soon as the guest was up. As some people (and staff) thought gold pass could go for photoshoots whenever they wanted. jael001
I dont see why it would be impossible to manage the queues if Golds could go in whenever we wanted. There's only 50 of us, if we're split between the various guests it should really make much difference as far as I can tell.

Sorry bout that Too Tall... it was actually a gold pass holder I was speaking to at E1 who was telling that one of the perks of a gold pass was that you didnt have to wait for your group to be called... but it seems that, as others have mentioned, there may have been a bit of confusion/barging at the time, so he probably shouldnt have got them all in one day, even tho he did! My bad, sorry! :)
Showmasters Admin Too Tall Posted October 14, 2008 Showmasters Admin Share Posted October 14, 2008 I dont see why it would be impossible to manage the queues if Golds could go in whenever we wanted. There's only 50 of us, if we're split between the various guests it should really make much difference as far as I can tell. There are in fact 100 gold passes. And trust me having 100 people being able to join any queue at any time is not easy to manage. We could call an extra group of 25 people just as 50 gold passes decide to come and see that guest. We suddenly have a queue of 75 people, which we just don't have room for. We need to be able to control the numbers in the queues. Having 100 people that can turn up at any time makes that very hard to do. We sort out the queues so that it fair and everyone gets to see half the guests the first day and half the second. For us to be able to make sure an even number of people get through on the first day, we can't just let all the gold passes in. As someone else has said above, all that happens is that the gold pass holders all go and get their autographs on the first day. 3 guests with 100 gold passes that's 300 people down queues. This means each standard ticket holders will miss at least 1 guests on the Saturday because there isn't enough time because their spot in the queue will have been taken by a gold pass holder. At the end of Saturday all the gold pass holders would have all 6 autos but some standard ticket holders in turn may have only got 1 or 2 on the first day, not overly fair. Seriously try orgainising 800 people in to queue in that small of a place and then tell me you're happy for 100 people to join any queue they like. Trust me you wouldn't. I understand people pay extra money for the gold passes, but that is for the other extras, photo shoots, front rows in talks etc. There is noting on the website about priority in autograph queues. To make the show flow we need to manage the queues, to do that we need to manage the number of people in thoughs queues. It's as simple as that. jael001
Ah ok. Yeah I can see with 100 people that might become a problem. I dont know why I thought there were only 50 Gold Passes. Nevermind.

My bad, sorry! :) I believe at EC1 there was some mis-understanding over this. There is nothing on the website that states gold passes get any priority in autograph queues. But at EC1 some gold pass holders believed they did and the ticketers at the end of the queues, rather than asking an organiser accepted what the attendees said and let them down the queues I think the mis-com came because the SM event Gold passes do allow people to join any queue, but they don't include things like photo shoots, just priority queuing for them. It was noticed and everyone was told to not allow it on the Sunday. It does just make our job of managing the 800 or so people that much harder if we allow people to join queues when they like, even if it is only 100 of them. Ah ok. Yeah I can see with 100 people that might become a problem. I dont know why I thought there were only 50 Gold Passes. Nevermind. At SMs signing events it's only 50. That's where you prob got that from.
Catmoo
I found it weird at the first eclipse cos me and my sister went with how everything was called out (I had a gold pass and was an ando badge as well) and then near the end of the day on sunday we were in the signing hall and asked if we were able to see a guest, not knowing if we'd been called, and the crew member said we had been able to go even if we hadn't been called all weekend, which confused me cos I knew that wasn't right :/

Queen_Sindel
That was what I was told at the end of Eclipse. The Gold Passes had priority at Chevron, and I thought that was the way they had decided to organise things. So now I am confused again. Gold Passes at Chevron got to go in first for the signings, but they still called groups for the different guests. I am totally sure about that because I was in the last group to be called for Chris Judge and had to wait quite a while. At Lockdown Gold Passes got a maybe 2 minute headstart and there were no groups being called. But Lockdown was significantly smaller than Chevron 7 or Eclipse, so it didn't matter that much. Showmasters Admin Too Tall Posted October 15, 2008 Showmasters Admin Share Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) The groups did go wrong at EC1. There is no denying that. The sheet that said which groups got called when was overly complicated. It's why everything went a bit squiffy on the Saturday morning. At 12 midday, myself and one of the other crew went off and created easy to read versions of it so that everyone knew what was going on. When we were doing that we noticed that some of the groups had been called out of sequence with the orginal list (becuase it was a pain to understand). We did our best to correct it, but it did mean some people ended up getting more autographs on Saturday and some people got more on Sunday. But at that point our main thought was to get everyone through by the end of the signing on the Sunday and we did that and everyone got what they paid for. It will be different this time. We did learn from our mistakes. Edited October 15, 2008 by Too Tall
