If you meant my post about stage lights, this was indeed more a suggestion for the future as jael has said.

I agree with you.
I don't think the room's size was really a problem at Lockdown (but we were only 40ish).
But you can imagine (i don't know if you were at Eclipse) what's happened at Eclipse, because we were in the same room and we were 100 attendees
So I agree this room is to small when there's 100 attendees at the Gold Pass Drink.
But i don't think there is a bigger room in the hotel (Except the Main Hall and the Dealer's room which can't be used for the drink).
Perhaps the solution is to use the same room as usually and a second room in the same corridor (perhaps the room for the photo session or the rooms used for the encounters). It's not a problem if we are in 2 different rooms because the guest liaisons help the guests to meet every attendees.

I thought it was organized well. I was unsure about the event before hand but my intial beliefs were soon trashed once I met all the cool people there, who were soon to become friends. It enabled us to meet others who shared our love for Lost and this made the convention. I will make sure I start saving for next time! :)

The other has a system in place where no matter what number you have on your reg pass (if you are given ticket numbers at showmasters event, I assume so), every day of the event you have to go where the main hall is and get a ticket with a different number on (more often then not people do queue with friends so they do sit near each other, regardless of when they booked there con ticket). They normally stop handing tickets out about 10-30mins before the main hall opens for talks.
You get called in batches into the main hall, and those who didn't get a ticket have to wait till everyone else is called, and its a different set of tickets each day, so people who were first in on the Saturday, might not be first in on the Sunday. I like that system because as I said even if you book at a different time to a friend who is going to the event with you, you still have the chance of sitting near each other...
People may see problems with this system but I never had a problem with it...

It’s what we speak, without language
It’s what we understand, without education
It’s the greatest awareness, that of ourselves
And through this philosophy, we will be able
To stand strong culturally, in a hostile world.

People will queue in the morning to get a low number, and then again to get in early in their batch.
With the current system nobody forces you to go in when your number is called. You can as well wait for your friends and all go in together.

there was one thing though, i found it very hard to get to know other con goers as everyone seemed to have their own little groups, and as i have never been to a con before i didnt know anyone really. i would say to any regular con goers that if they see a new face around that they haven't noticed at any other con, it might be a god idea to just say hi. i know i will next time. anyway still enjoyed it....and like i say, can't wait for next year.

You weren't sitting on your own though right or anything? I did pull one guy into our group who was sitting at the edge of the hall on Saturday night...

But with many people being on this forum now after the event, I'm sure those that perhaps felt left out at L1 can get to know people before the next one

I have no comments about which system is better as far as seating goes, I just don't think it's necessary to queue more than need bee..there's enough of that already lol. I had Gold Pass and I will get a Gold pass on the next one.
I was only missing (and this is due to another con I went to in 07, not a SM one) they had this clip board up or whatever it's called with info on where to go for autograph sessions etc. I soon realized that for Lockdown this wasn't necessary as it was a small con this time around. Also there were plenty of staff to ask if you weren't sure. So that's no longer an issue for me either lol
SO no complaints whatsoever from me, allthough I wish the hotel had free internet access! That's the hotel's fault though..not Showmasters lol. Other than that lil grrr the hotel was fine too!

Although, on the Saturday I was in the Autograph que for Andrew Divoff and I heard a man and a woman talking, the man said something like "You could always go stand behind the teenage boy in the orange hoody if you don't like it" and I turned around to see a woman in a black beret (sp?) talking to Too Tall, and the woman gave me the filthiest look ever. Not moaning about Too Tall as he was very helpful and nice over the weekend and what he said was just jokey and harmless. But that look was slightly... off putting to say the least.
