Muffin
I think adding an atlantis guest would largely boost the amount of people interested in the event. David Hewlett is in England in June, getting married however. LOL Not sure I can go myself but I will advertise as I always do

The wife, little un and i have bought our tickets for chevron 7. What can we expect? Friday: You will arrive and go to the registartion desk in the hotel lobby. There you will recieve your reg pack and con badge. At 7ish there will be an opening ceremony where Jason and Mark the organisers will say hi and usually introduce the guests on stage. Once the opening ceremony is over the Gold pass holders will have a drink reception with the guests. At around 8:30pm the party will start, this is a themed party for everyone. Usually as the guests will have been travelling all day they probably will not go, but you never know. Saturday and Sunday: There will be a schedule in you reg pack explaining exactly when everything is on. There will be talks where the guests are on stage of 30-50 minutes and answer questions and chat. There will be photo shoots and autograph sessions. Depending on if you have photo shoots you will be called in for the photo shoots and based on your ticket number you will be called to get specific guests autographs. It could be on either Saturday or Sunday. But don't worry you will get all your autographs and photo shoots and there are enough seats for everyone in the talks. Saturday night: There will be a themed party where the guests will usually attend. Please and this is a note to everyone, if you crowd the guests and ask for photos they will leave. If you are polite and talk to the guests in small groups and treat them as normal people they will stay for longer. This was proved at Eclipse and Lockdown. At Eclipse the guests came in and half the room ran at them asking for photos, after 45 minutes only 2 guests remained in the hall, after another 30 minute no guests were there. Were as at Lockdown were the guests were left to have a good time, with people just goin gup and chatting to them and they all stayed until 1am+ Sunday evening/night: There will be a final big talk with all the guests attending, and then the closing ceremony. After that if you are staying Sunday nigt there is a chill out party on the Sunday night. Again at Lockdown were the guests felt happy and relaxed they came to the Sunday night party and Eclipse they did not. Please don't feel I'm having a go at you personally about guests being mobbed. Obviously you were not involved and I'm sure never would. It just was a big problem at Eclipse that I feel people should be aware of. Be cool wit hthe guests and they will be cool in return. Anything else you want to know just ask

Queen_Sindel
Thanks for the info. We are taking our four year old daughter as she too loves stargate. Will she be allowed to attend the party in the evening? If she doesn't attempt to buy alcohol I can't see why she shouldn't be allowed. Joking aside: as far as I am aware there's no age limit for the party.

MadOne
anyone know how many tickets have been sold or will be sold in total (ie do SM have an upper limit? I think the upper limit for tickets is 800. I remember a discussion in the Eclipse forum where that number popped up. Well I'm a complete Newbie for this convention / forum but the hotel website says it has conference and meeting rooms that can accommodate from 2 to 600 delegates. (Anyway - too large an event = less time with guests... so I'm not unhappy if it is limited to 600)

I think I recall something that the hotel can only provide 600 chairs or something like this.

I think I recall something that the hotel can only provide 600 chairs or something like this. This was brought up before Eclipse. The hotel website does say 600 max and that is purely because they only have 600 chairs. SM hired an extra 200 chairs. The room could in fact take around 1000. But SM decided that they would not sell more than 800 tickets for any event as that is the maximium number they felt could happily get through autograph and photo shoot lines over a weekend. I will not disagree that the less attendees you have the more time you get with the guests. But also the less attendees you have the less money the organisor has to spend on guests and so less big names can be invited.
