I have been to lots of different conventions by lots of the usual suspects and signed up for a ticket to Eclipse on the basis of the guest lineup rather than because I was expecting anything other than the usual late-running, long-queueing bedlam of your average weekend event.
But it was so much better. I had all my autographs done by 2pm on Sunday AND all my photos back, meaning I had a lovely chilled afternoon mooching around the dealers' room, socialising and just enjoying the moment.
Two things that really stood out for me:
* Going to an event where when (as is inevitably in a big event) things go awry the organisers concede something is going wrong and fix it immediately so people go home happy with everything they want is a breath of fresh air. And after the snafu of the first morning communication was great - changing the schedule and keeping everyone up to date was brilliant.
* The attention to detail was phenomenal - 10 by 8s in the welcome pack, badges, the Petrelli party, the Timeline Room (which rightly deserves its own thread), gifts in the room, it was all these little details that made it feel like we're more than cash cows (although admittedly if the amount I spent this weekend is anything to go by we're that too!).
You do realise by the way you've set the bar bloody high for your next event don't you??!
I wouldn't hesitate on going to another Showmasters event and in fact I'd say I'm going to be going to the other cons I'm booked with alternate organisers wondering where their little details and fab funky stuff is (this was your cunning plan wasn't it??!). Thank you to everyone involved, not just Jason and Mark but all the staff and crew who gave up their time for free. It was seriously the best con I've been to in years, not just for the guests (although all of them were lovely and Cristine is a legend) but also for the party atmosphere and organisation.

To me, Showmasters just went that extra distance to ensure that every attendee was as happy as possible, they took some chances, did things differently and were big enough to not only admit when something wasn't quite right, but to fix it at the time. That helped make the event stand out (in a very positive way). For me, if also rejuvenated my interest in conventions.

Though on a side note if someone could apologise again to Miss Jessalyn Gilsig, cause I almost pushed the bathroom door into her in my rush to get in there.

Thinks that Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy and David Anders would make up one heck of a sandwich...that I would be in the middle of.

Wonderful atmosphere, really relaxed (after Saturday morning's panic, ha), I had all the time I needed to do everything, and getting the group shot was a fantastic way to end it! The talks were the absolute highlight, and the way they were hosted was perfect.
HUGE thanks to Jason, Mark, Andrea, Jola, Too Tall and EVERYBODY for leaving me with a nice warm fuzzy feeling.
