If she's already at Eclipse AND Manchester, I suggest attending one of those rather than hoping she'll attend another event this year.

I would imagine the chances are very small considering she's already done another event last year too.

am I allowed to be a bit annoyed by the fact that 2 of the Eclipse guests are going to Manchester too? remind me why I've paid out a lot of money for a gold pass for Eclipse when it seems I could now see both of them for a fraction of the money the week before?

This is so annoying! I guess next, Sendhil and david will be announced. Then whats the point of Eclipse? If I'm going to Manchester and I'll see their talks for free, why am, I paying £320 for tickets and hotel?! There is supposed to be a special reason for Eclipse and why we are going, so why do this?

I'm just skint, and Eclipse is a hell of a lot of money for me, and it would be soo cheaper to go to Manchester instead, so I feel a bit ripped off... esp with the two guests as the whole reason I got the tix... Greg and Zach... are both cancelled ^_^ This had better be a good 6th guest!!!

No of course I didn't, but my assumption about a weekend convention is that the guests are more exclusive somehow, especially with only 6 guests. It's one thing to have the guests back to a showmasters event later in the year...but the week before, and 2 out of the 6? I think it's unfair on everyone who paid a lot of money for tickets to Eclipse, gold ticket or standard, it's not exactly cheap.

I'm sorry if this comes across as blunt, but those of you who are complaining about this are ignorant to the point of a weekend convention. It's TOTALLY different to a signing event. It's so much more personal, so much more fun. If I'm not crewing Manchester, I will go and see both of them at both places. Weekend conventions are NOTHING to do with guest exclusivity, and it's 100% fair to people who have paid to go. The talks, the nicer environment, the fan atmosphere, the parties, the more relaxed signing and photoshoots - that's why you go to a weekend con. You lose almost all of that with a signing event. It's like complaining that you bought a Porsche when you could've had a look at the Ford factory.

I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with signing events or those who go to them, but they are VASTLY different creatures, and as far as the guests go, you will get *MUUUUUUUCH* more out of the weekend con.

Conventions are a whole weekend experience. I've never done them before because I'm much happier attending these types of events - for me, they're cheaper, and I get what I want quicker i.e. autographs.

But with Eclipse - I want to see the talks, I want the photo shoots, I want the autographs, and the experience of sharing a weekend with Heroes fans.

Your Gold Pass will be covering the photo shoots, the autographs, Cocktail Party etc. There's a LOT you wouldn't be getting if you went to Manchester for the two instead.

Of course it depends on what you personally want and are interested in, but conventions are a 3 day experience, not an autograph signing.

And I would imagine it's a lot easier to have these two attend so close to Eclipse than months after.

you're entitled to your opinion of course, I think it's very bad business practice...later in the year would have been fine, but the week before feels like a kick in the teeth to me, sorry but that's how I feel

The week before is better for us. They already have flights, therefore Showmasters save money, therefore that's money they can spend on more and/or better guests. I'm not complaining. It doesn't impact Eclipse in the slightest.

I guess I'm more annoyed on behalf of eveyone else. I'm pretty sure there is a large proportion of people coming to Eclipse who aren't going for the convention atmosphere, they're coming for their autographs and photos, and maybe the talks, all of which they could get cheaper at Gmex. I just think a bigger gap between the 2 events would have been more sensible. I'm not saying they shouldn't get them for other events at all. And I realize they're doing it because those guests are coming anyway, so if they can get them at 2 events and make more money off them, then they will. Doesn't make it right.

I've expressed my feelings, I'll leave it at that now I think.

i am coming to eclipse mainly for the signatures. I bought tickets as i didnt want to miss a chance of meeting somone who might not be back for years. I'm not mad about this annoucement more just in shock that i spent all my money on eclipse when a ticket to manchester would have done.

If they are doing that, they're doing it for the wrong reasons. Going to Eclipse for JUST autographs and nothing else is like paying to go to the cinema to watch the trailers and then leave, then complaining that the cinema is ripping you off because the trailer was shown on TV too. They spent the money and took the chance on something like that, they can't really complain.
