In the finale to the cult show's second volume, 'Generations', which aired in the US on Monday, Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) was shot in the chest as he gave a press conference. Meanwhile Niki (Ali Larter) was seemingly trapped inside a building moments before it exploded. "Things are fairly dire for them both," Kring told TV Guide, adding that the fates of both characters are "up in the air and will be determined when we come back after the [writers'] strike". As for volume three, titled 'Villains', Kring teased: "We've introduced a cadre of them over the course of the show and we're going to see them rise up. Just as the heroes have found each other to save the world, the villains will do the same with the opposite intent. The Company has catalogued many of these people over the years. There may be more of them down in that basement than we have alluded to so far." ......So my poll is, if we had to decide who to save and have in Season 3, who would it be? My answer would be Nathan... Both have been very underused in the series, but Nikki is getting a bit repetitive, and dull, I'd rather explore the character of Nathan, and his relationship with his brother, and the controversy of his shooting. There's far more to explore with his character - Niki, Jessica et al have had enough storylines, and they're not actually very interesting to be honest. The Petrelli family is something that needs to be looked into deeper, especially Angela .. while Micah doesn't really need his mum anymore, as he has Monica and the rest. I think it would be be interesting to see how Peter copes without Nathan and as much as i love Ali, i dont see much else they could do with Niki. She also had the virus so isn't it good that she went boom to kill the virus? Besides as everyone said the Petrelli family needs to be looked into lots and lots. My only reason is because Heroes needs to gain the trust of some viewers. There were potentially 5 people dead at the end of season 1 but none died (DL was a different cause), and HRG died but came back to life. I've seen alot of people worried Claire's blood is now going to bring everyone back to life so nobody is ever really dead on the show. Also, Maury and Adam were two big villains this season but neither of them were truly stopped and gotten rid of. Adam is screaming in a coffin and Maury got trapped in a mindcage. Perhaps Nathan could be gone for a volume and then bring him back. I agree. I think Claires blood could be a really lazy writing tool and an excuse to not rock the boat! While I like Jack Coleman and his character, when Mohinder shot him I thought that his death wouldve been so dramtically satisfying at that point. BUt then they go and bring him back. Same with Maya. I secretly do want Adam back, but not Maury. It would be a copout if season 2 stopped none of its key villains. But seriously I think Nikki's storyline was finished when DL died and Micah went to live with someone else - and I agree with SweetMolly, Peter needs Nathan, it wouldn't be the same without him. I'm not that fond of Nikki's character so I wouldn't be too worried if she didn't come back. I fact I think it might be interesting to see how Micah copes with the loss of her. Phoenix Will Rise Posted March 5, 2008 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Ali Larter has been seriously underused on this show... her storylines are usually stand alone and dont revolve that much around the main plot. So in that case, I want her to survive.. Tho I guess even if Niki is dead, she could go all Phoenix-y and come back as someone else...a Villain perhaps And with the revelation in the online comic regarding a connection between Niki and another character....
