Trains on Friday

For anyone planning to travel to MK by train on Friday please be aware that in the papers today are announcements that Silverlink are planning to strike (on Friday only). Whilst I don't think this will affect Virgin Trains it might mean that if you are going home on Friday, there are less trains available.

That's... annoying. Thanks for the heads-up, though.

Here's some info that might be of use to folk travelling by train on Friday, courtesy of National Rail: http://tinyurl.com/245tr6

On the subject of rail woes, I remember making a very lengthy journey to CM4 in 2003. A section of track was closed for repair and there were no trains at all from Euston to Milton Keynes. Instead, I sat on a rail-replacement coach for three hours while it wound its way around as many country lanes as possible.

This Friday, I'm putting my faith in Virgin. They have nicer trains anyway. :hathor:

I had to get on something like that coming away from a CM maybe this time last year. It was p***ing down outside and the bus was packed out with Spurs and West Ham fans, it took forever to get home and I ended up having to get off the bus at some god fore saken station in the middle of nowhere because I was getting car sick!
