On The Ready Line!

Recommended Posts

... and ready to get it ON!

We got knives, sharp sticks.

Well, OK, we have replica Pulse Rifles and the odd rubber bayonet.

BUT STILL!

10+ Colonial Marines inbound, after reports of an 8 foot creature, with acid for blood... Generally unpleasant and needing caught ASAP.

See you on Saturday ;)

I still haven't seen a smart-gunner yet. Still hoping one will show up in the future. Do you have a bird to dress up as Ripley? Or do you think she might give you grief once she puts it on and say, "How do I get out of this chick-sh!t outfit?"

BTW, the trailer for Aliens Versus Predator: Requiem (AvP2) is now online here: www.avp-r.com

FINALLY!!!!!!! :smile::D

You guys were great! I took some pics of you, I think there's another one on the last page too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/firefly827347/page2/

Thanks for the info about Airsoft!

My pleasure! :) Hope to see you at Section 8 sometime!

Thanks for the compliments, everyone.

The Alien suits are pretty hot, the armour less so ( And somewhat easier to remove if need be. Or if need pee! )

As for cost... Dunno, really - Personally, my armour was about US$450 as part of a group buy but it's been customised, and I've picked up lots of bits and pieces in trades for it.

Kaylee, my Pulse Rifle, has about £1000 invested so far in terms of parts and labour.

Totally worth it.

Heh.

Thanks for another great Collectormaia, everyone. We do enjoy these events so :)

Nicky - we did have two women marines this weekend.

Nice piccies firefly. But there is a problem with one. I can see me in it, but I don't see the alien? What sort of voodoo magic did you pull to manage that? ;)

I have no idea where the alien was. I didn't even know there *was* an alien until later  It was just you three sitting at the desk.

Hehe, my Alien had a great time! The costume isn't too bad, provided that you drink litres of water every hour! As long as people "LOOK AT ME!!!!" then he's happy. (I'm not really an ego-maniac, but my Alien is!)

It is very hard to take a photo of Marines without an Alien : PIC LINK

I meant someone to dress up as a tooled-up Ripley though? Can you get a grenade bandolier etc?

Would like to see a flame-unit and pulse rifle strapped togeher too though it guess it would be a pain for some to carry so much.

It could be done - We're thinking of vac-forming some pulseys anyway to go on a rack and act as a backdrop, with one specifically kept aside for punters to have photos with.

But the normal weight for a pulse rifle is anything from 3 or 4 kilos up to 7, 8 or more.

Mine's sitting just over 7kg just now.

The only flamers I've seen so far are resin kits, but it's only a matter of time til someone builds a metal one from airsoft parts.

Fact

As for next year's CM:G?

Hell.

Yes.

I might even have my smartgun rig finished by then.

If so, I can shoot all the pigs down with it.

I'm very keen on seeing one in action complete with harness. ADIOS!!

Any news on a remote sentry unit? And if you do get a Ripley how about getting some brat all greased up to be Newt?

If you have a spare £3000 for two MG42s to do a proper Smartgun and Sentry gun, I'll happily take it :P

As for Newt - We should have had one at this event for a few hours, but the babysitter for her brother fell through so she had to stay home ;)

Hang on, let me check round the back of the sofa

*squelch* Hmmm, some sort of secreted resin...

Shame about mini-Newt. Next time, eh :YAHOO:
