That bit of music at the end FOTR, when Frodo is crying, I love that, my favourite one though is the FOTR, I just love the way fellowship theme builds up, then as the fellowship breaks the theme sort of goes into the background!!!!!!!!

I would so love to meet that gut though!!!!!!!!!!!

Howard Shore you rrrraaawwwwkkkk - just without the drums and guitars etc

yep.. the breaking of the fellowship track has to be the best by far... it has sooo many elements all rolled into one!! it has the hobbit theme and then the dramatic danger bits!! but mostly.. it just made me cry!!! a very emotive piece!!

I love that both albums so far manage to 'encapsulate' the movies and bring back the scenes to the mind. From Hobbiton, to Gandalf's fall, Lothlorien, Boromir's death, the Rohirrim, the Last March of the Ents, Sam's hopeless speech ... Those are my favourite bits that stick out the most, but I love it all!

The ROTK trailer track sounds WONDERFUL also!

Oh Yes, that part at the end where Elijah/Frodo is remembering what Gandalf said, "We wish things would never happen, but that's not for us to decide. We need to decide what to do with the time that is given to us." Or something along those line...Frodo/Elijah is crying and I cry every single time. Then when Sam says, "I made a Promise Mr. Frodo, a Promise. "Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee" And I don't mean to, I don't mean to."

Oh *Tear* what a wonderful scene.

Anywayz, that should go into a "What's your favorite scene" thread.

I had never heard of Howard Shore until LOTR came out, when I first heard the music I thought it was very good but after hearing it a few times I realized that it was wonderful and added so much to the film.Of course I bought the CD and was captured by it totally, all the emotion of the films comes out more fully with the wonderful score. Then TTT CD came out and I listened entranced to it ,as to be expected Howard had done another great job on the score, seeing the film for the first time only confirmed this to me .Just listening to the music makes me weep because through it I can see the film in my minds eye.I look forward to hearing the music to ROTK as much as the film and I am sure that I will not be dissapointed.Thank you Howard Shore

Yep that is a class scene that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know just after the fellowship is formed at Rivendell and they set out to Mordor!! (With me so far??) They go over the top of a hill and there is like a big rock in the way, and all the actors are looking out at the scenery, but anyway yeah shut up, i was just kinda wondering what the hell were they looking at???????

i absolutely love the Khazad Dum (the last min is just soooooooo fantastic and it truly brings teasr to my eyes just picturing the hobbits (especially billy!) after Gandalf had fallen)

Oh yes. Anyone listened to director's commentary on FOTR? Peter wanted Elijah to "truly scare them [the audience]". Well, he succeeded.

Guess what I'm listening to right now! Foundations of Stone on TTT soundtrack. The choir rocks.

Oh, we're onto Taming of Sméagol now. Don't you think the hobbit theme opens so beautifully? It's hobbity, and yet mutated into this sad score. It's only a couple of seconds long, but it says so much about Sam and Frodo and their journey.

I love these songs too much.

And then I hear that Howard Shore will be conducting the score in London at some point! http://www.musicfromthemovies.com/article.asp?ID=152 for more information on where he will be performing! Six places in the world, wooot!

I've stolen some links off my Shore-obsessed friend that you might want to check out if you are also a rabid fan.

ROTK OS (if you understood that then you're one of the fans)

If you live in New Zealand or, at a push, Australia, you might want to go to this!

His official site - I can't believe I've never been here before!

39 days until the 3rd album is released! And look at the content of the first link closely! Viggo and Billy sing! AAAAIIII!

howard shore pulls it off to a tee!!

you feel exactly the same emotions from the music as you do when you read the book.

sad, happy etc...

one scene that makes me cry is when the fellowship come out of moria after loosing gandalf the music is really powerful

Yeah!..That one and breaking of the fellowship...I can just hear 'All you have to decide, is what to do with the time given to you'...And then frodo and sam in the boat and then looking out into mordor...ok..i'll shush now :D Sorry...Just watched the ROTK trailer...That is one hell of a trailer...I wish i wouldof told sean how much i loved him as sam

Actually, all the Samwise stuff seems to be in the faves. So very inspiring, and 'encapsulates' (heehee! My Elijah-word) the whole essence of the movie. What does Phillipa Boyens says? Something like (and excuse the extreme misquotation): "There are these two hobbits literally crawing on their hands and knees through Mordor, and that's the essence of the movie". And Sam embodies that loyalty, that determination, that stubborness not to despair.

Hmmm. Maybe I should write a review on it?
