nicky
IMO I don't think any of his films post 1990 were any good bar Misery and The Green Mile...I dont even like The Shawshank Redemption. His greatest adaptations came outta the early 80s I say and my favourites are: 1) David Cronenberg's The Dead Zone 2) John Carpenter's Christine 3) Stanley Kubrick's The Shining OK I love The Running Man too and Stand By Me but I meant horror. Creepshow's not too bad though I think it was the second one I saw with man-eating algae in the pond. Edited April 27, 2007 by nicky

stobbs
After reading quite a few of his books and then seeing the movie, his adaptations always fall short. I was so disappointed with the tv movie IT which is my favourite book of his. The non-horror King movies are great, Shawshank (one of the greatest movies ever), Green Mile, Stand By Me and the cool Running Man. I do really like Pet Sematary and would place this as my favourite with The Shining and Creepshow coming close runners-up
leigh_thomas
Apart from a few in the early nineties, I have to agree with Nicky that most (not all) of the adaptations made in the nineties were no where near as good as the majority of those made in the eighties. These are my top ten favourite Stephen King films; 1. Pet Sematary - 1989 2. Creepshow - 1982 3. Christine - 1983 4. The Shining - 1980 5. IT - 1990 6. The Tommyknockers - 1993 7. Silver Bullet - 1985 8. Sometimes They Come Back - 1991 9. Sleepwalkers - 1992 10. The Langoliers - 1995 I also really like the films The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption & Stand By Me but as these arent 'horrors' they arent in my list!
