abstractharmony
We've got all the other major bases covered :- Empire Day Fed Con Ring-Con and a healthy selection of genre guest for Collectormanias & LFCC but Horror seems to be tucked at the bottom of the pile. The first few Collectormanias were great and jam-packed with horror goodness now it seems like it's few and far between. With your extremely good name and experience you could easily put on an event to rival the REMOVED Weekend of Horrors and others. So, how about it? EDIT - Please be aware it is against forum rules to name any event not affiliated with Showmasters. Thanks. Moderators DavidB Posted July 6, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 6, 2006 I'd love a decent Horror con, unfortunately with the amount of shows they're doing right now, I'm not sure where they'd be able to fit it in! Don't want them taking on too much

Victor Van Dort
Yes a horror con would be the best way to go for me! Check out my thread in the guest suggestions section for more detailed analysis of why SM would benefit from a horror con.........oh, and us horror fans too! sydney_bristow
An horror con is what this country is crying out for!!!! We've had kind of one elsewhere from another show, but I really do think Showmasters would be able to excel at it, and bring us some topline guests We need a proper horror con, not a half baked event like other people have tried to do where its mixed in with everything else. Showmasters Admin Too Tall Posted July 7, 2006 Showmasters Admin Share Posted July 7, 2006 (edited) Hey foot, here's my mouth! For the reasoning behind this see the latest guests announced for CMGMEX! Thanks Showmasters (slinks off to hide in a corner...mumble mumble how was I to know mumble, great guests mumble mumble) Firstly I wasn't having a go You'd know if i was I was just letting you know and removing the offending reference. Secondly the basic rules are laid out in the Welcome to the Collectormania forum thread. The one in the very first section subtitled "New members, please read". So that's how you should have known. From that thread. Unfortunately we can not allow advertising for other events or businesses (blatant or otherwise!). This includes fan sites with links to other events or businesses, unless you have prior permission from Showmasters. Posts containing links or references to other events will be edited or deleted, and the same goes for signatures. If you are unsure you can contact one of the moderators or Showmasters themselves. GoldenGreen
Yeah, a Horror con would be excellent, with some film screenings and Q and A's as well, not just the signngs. There does appear to be a real gap in the UK market for this sort of event at the moment.
Manwards
Yeah, I'd probably attend one. I'm more into horror than fantasy or science fiction. In fact, all the guests I've met at the two Collectormania events I've attended have been horror stars, with the exception of Kristanna Loken. Well, that was before she did BloodRayne, but who watched that anyway?
Doug-Lover
HEL YEAH!!!!!! I love horror!!!!! A horror convention would rock!!!! But, how about we make it a Doug Bradley Convention!!!!!!
jamie1138
i saw him on the underground coming back from londonfilmandcomiccon... well,he was in the directline insurance ad on the wall, anyway. but he would be a great guest... but only, and i stress only if they had him alongside ron perlman. hellboy vs pinhead. come on!!! Manwards
I met Doug Bradley at my first Collectormania. Great guy, quiet and very intense. You could feel the evil/love coming off him in waves.

mario_the_apocalypse
A Horror Con would be awesome. I spoke to Tony Timpone (the editor of Fangoria magazine) in 2004 and asked why they didn't do a Fango con in the UK? He said he was sceptical that it was feesable. SM can you do your magic? Anhoo.... here is a little bit of Horror for the French
mightymax
LMFAO yeh you could of posted that pic or the one of the p**** zidane droppin the nut! ffs Back on track yes I would love a horror con there def is a gap in the UK market for this you only have to look at the queues for the horror guests @ various conventions to see its much wanted! Although I do think it is a lot to ask SM for as they are busy doing so much at the moment perhaps its something they could do in the future
theoden_of_rohan
It would be ace! Not sure why there is such a gap in the market, especially condsidering the amount of horror fans out there! THE UK NEEDS A DECENT HORROR CON

nicky
I don't think a horror con would be considered by SM cos all those guests would be used to fill up the other existing cons like CM or LFCC. If you look at all the other mini SM cons they are all targetted at specific shows/franchises that have proved an evidential mass following...except for Autographica but that is more aimed to include "historic" people. abstractharmony
Thanks for listening to the wants of us horror geeks SM. Whilst the guests are fantastic at the other cons I still believe that a Horror Only Con is something for the future... We shall see! But in the meantime, thanks again for the VERY cool guests

Victor Van Dort
SM have done a great job at getting us some top horror guests over the last few shows, and I'm glad they've moved the Collectormania 12 dates next year. It's now the weekend just before Halloween, so hopefully we'll get some horror guests for that one!

dazzlerjames
Looking at all of the guest suggestions in the other events pages I agree I think a horror con would be really well attended. Just think of how many horror actors are out there. Just a thought maybe horrorhound, Victor and friday the 13th fan could organise one with SM backing. That way they wouldn't have to be involved with all of the organisation of the show when they've got so much on. Recent events (not just SM) have had horror guests and they always seem relatively busy when you compare it to say the recent bond reunions which seem to be happening everywhere and before the bond fans jump on me it's just my observation as I've also noticed star wars guests have become less than busy at recent shows (not that I mind it means I get to chat for longer). Anyhow - UK wants a horror con and if we don't get one they we'll get all stalk and slashy!!!
friday13thfan
Horror con is defintily needed in this country...the ones they have in the U.S (and they have a hell of alot in a year) and they are dedicated to purely horror are huge success's...I'm going to TX in 7 weeks for one which is being organised by some friends of mine out there.....we need something like that...... dazzlerjames....as for me helping to organise one..that would be awesome but I wouldn't know the first thing about doing it, I do talk to a few horror actors (Andrew Bryniarski,Ari Lehman,Stu Charno,George Wilbur,CJ Graham to name a couple) and could help in that respect lol...but I'm sure SM could easily get hold of them anyway....
