I am posting this as a response to an earlier thread, which I have now deleted in an attempt to try and halt the tide of bad feeling and flaming which seems to have invaded these forums recently.
In regards to the first thread which kicked this off, as soon as we were made aware of what was happening we did contact some of those concerned, and there were some members were suspended and banned. No we were not aware of this situation when it first started, we simply do not have time to read every single thread and rely on members to report post which are getting out of control (which did not happen in this instance). We are still going through that section at the moment to try and clean up the mess left by these cyber riots, so if you see any threads or posts which you feel should be removed please hit the "report this post" button.
Unfortunately with such a wide variety of people with differing tastes and personalities there will inevitably be friction and disagreement. Luckily most of the time everyone is able to get along (or at least ignore those posts which annoy them), but every now and then things seem to get out of hand, tempers flare, and it escalates into a full blown battle which quickly spreads across the whole forum.
Now I've no idea what sparked this current hostility. It could be something as simple as one member having a bad day and snapping at another member, whose friends then feel they should jump in and defend them, and other members then seeing it as an opportunity to vent their own frustrations and feelings. Quite frankly it doesn't really matter how it started or who was involved, what matters is that we all put a stop to it right now. Lets just let bygones be bygones and start again with a clean slate. If you see something which you feel is out of order report the post, if you see a thread which annoys you just ignore it, it really is up to all of us to try and keep this place civil and pleasant for all our members.
