I think a lot of people have never forgiven him for ruining the X-Files, but the sad part is it wasn't even his fault. The fault clearly lies with Chris "I've run out of ideas and my main star has buggered off" Carter. Carter should've shut down the show at the end on the 6th season on a high note, leaving people wanting more. Instead, he just kept it going way past his ability to think up interesting storylines, and basically flushed the entire show down the toilet. The finale was absolutely appalling - the only thing that redeemed it was the final moment between Mulder and Scully, and that should've been how the series was ended in the 6th season. Now I just pretend that Seasons 7 8 and 9 never happened. I wish sometimes people would just let something end on a high. They can revisit it later in TV Movies etc., but I'd much rather it end when it's GOOD. Look at TNG - universally loved, and it ended on a real high note. And then they made the movies. Generations = mediocre, and it never happened (because Kirk died ) First Contact = admittedly this was good Insurrection = This was OK, but nothing special Nemesis = Absolute rubbish from start to finish. I got into the series through reruns after it was all over (don't ask me how I managed to miss it the first time!!), and I think Doggett is a great character. As I said, the show went down the toilet, but that wasn't his fault.... nothing could've saved it once Chris Carter ran out of decent ideas and the main writers left. An iconic bad guy of the 90`s who would have been a great addition to my T2 auto collection, that would have started if somebody pulled thier head out of thier ass and given Xander T2 photos, which if you can`t guess I am still f***ed off about.
