Flowers by the roadside

The sister of someone I know was tragically killed by a drunk driver and her family like to place flowers by the roadside in the memory of her. However, the local council are trying to ban people from placing flowers by the roadside. This has upset the family greatly and they have started a petition to try and get the council to reconsider. Please could you show your support by posting.

Thought so. I read this in the local press, wasnt it more a ban on memorials rather then flowers, or was it a new article?

Ive been told its flowers because they cause a distraction....

Yeah thats what they said about the memorials. If I remember rightly they said that people were welcome to lay flowers, but they want to ban memorials with lights and things like that. It is sad really cos thats how people greive, but if it is causing more accidents then I dunno  :wub:

OMG !!!!!! no way you have my full support we had the same thing happen last year at xmas time my next door neighbours friend was killed by a drunk driver who deliberatly hit them then left em for dead, they died the next day in hospital and the whole street was in deep mourn over this guy coz he knew everyone. Basically everyone put flowers down and the council tried to get it banned which i strongly dissagree so you have my full support on this and i hope they re concider about not moving the flowers for you.
