DarkElfUK
I missed the SGA talk and was wondering whether/or when the talks will be released on video..I know it's not a main priority of yours, but it'd be nice to know whether you plan on working on this in the near future, as it'd be cool to see that and the Aliens talks AND the SG1 talk again! Thanks, Andy

Moderators DavidB Posted November 14, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 14, 2004 As far as I can remember, all talks have been filmed, not just LFACC2 but previous events too. All the footage is around, I think some has been put together n it'll be released. In the future. That's all we've been told so there lol

Moderators DavidB Posted November 14, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 14, 2004 Hi all, As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, once Jason has recovered from the spanking/pandas/drinking/fatigue/bar bill, he and I will sit down and work through all of the DVDs, and get them finalised as soon as is humanly possible. Bear in mind that there are hours and hours of footage to work through, covers and to design, encoding and authoring to do, as well as getting the things pressed and ready to sell. Then, Showmasters have got to let you all know that they're ready, which I imagine they'll do on the forums as soon as the test discs are passed. We're getting through them as quickly as we can, so bear with us all. That's what one of the camera dudes said somewhere else I guess the DVDs don't come TOO high up the priority scale compared to sorting out the events etc ... and there must be SO much stuff! I think it's something we're gonna have to be VERY patient for lol

nicky
I doubt very much that the talks will be released in their entirity anyway...more likely it will be the highlights. There is only so much they can fit onto a dvd.

surfy_sah
thing is they said AFTER LFACC1 they were gunna release the talks on dvd/vid so it's good to have this thread, reminds the important people that peeps STILL want to see the talks!!! I know it's a lot of editing etc to be done and maybe SM/etc have higher priorities BUT maybe say put all the LotR talks from 2003/2004 on one dvd etc etc and then release them like that no as all the talks on one thing?! just an idea... dunno how that would work for talks like RD where there has only been one but it would be great for things like SG (3) and LotR (too many for me to count ) surfy sah xx ps-or maybe they should just to a talks dvd from each show???? although then I'd have to buy MANY dvds/vids but I guess that's good for SM!!! Zimbing
Sounds like a good idea there Surfy_Sah. It would be cool to have a DVD per show, or some talks per DVD, instead of just highlights.

nicky
Andy, Each talk was 45 mins at LFCC2 and there were ten of them making a total of about 450 mins. A dvd as far as I know can hold about (if it's dual layer, double sided: "DVD-18") 360mins at the most.

A dvd as far as I know can hold about (if it's dual layer, double sided: "DVD-18") 360mins at the most. it doesn't matter how long its gona be they can put it onto 2 dvd's if they want, but they said they were gons do a dvd and I can see LFACC5 rolling around before any dvd's are seen. I go to another event cant mention it, and they always produce a great 2 or 3 dvd box set only 4 or 6 months after an event, so if they can do it, hint hint hint well why do these people seem to be taking so long LLAP Edited November 16, 2004 by zebredy

nicky
you an skip out a few minutes easilly while (in some talks) waiting for the mic to come to you or a q to be asked of the guests/stars And you can skip some of the dumb questions. Like the one that went, "If you went to a fancy dress party would you go as xxxxx?" The answer to that one was a quick, "No". And I've been in talks when people ask a question that's already been answered.

Why don't they just get it right in the first place. From what you have said now everytime showmasters ventures into something new, I wil think to myself, how many times will they have to do this to get it right. It just takes carefull planning then you an get it right first time, like I have seen many other people/groups able to do in the past, and Showmasters are no different LLAP
