Video recording!

Hey everyone!

I've gone to several Chevron conventions and know nearly every rule but I just want to clarify 1 or 2 things about recording videos at Chevron.

I understand that no one is allowed to record videos in any of the guest talks, auctions etc thats fine. Are Showmasters happy for people to record around the hotel, in the evening parties and in the dealers room providing the people in the video are happy to be recorded and none of the guests are in the video without there permission? I just want to make sure before hand and this might give some clarification to others who might like to record as well.

Thanks guys!

How can you ensure that you're not filming an attendee who doesn't want to be filmed, even if you take a census, you're not going to remember who said yes and who said no right? You'll end up filming someone who doesn't want to be filmed, even at a distance and that would only cause trouble.

Sure you wouldn't take close-ups without asking but what about wide shoots and background action. My dancing is atrotious... I mean seriously, people cross the road when they see me coming because it's that bad. I don't need any more proof and certainly not in an indelable format that could be held against me in court...

Remembering form my past chevron's you are aloud to take as many photos as you like in the chats, you can take photos of fans around the hotel and at the parties but you must not take photos of the guests at the parties unless given permission as you are suppose to pay for photo's. You are not allowed to film the celebrities at all during a chevron event and they prefer you not film the fans as many do not wish to be filmed. If you are in the bar with just friend that are happy to be filmed then that should be ok but upstairs where the convention goes on I wouldn't film at all especially as you don't know if a celebrity or someone who doesn't want to be filmed walks past. Hope this helps.
