1. ah but thats what we do...we troop around the event area. always have always will. plus our changing area at this event was at the signings area!
2. ok..ive read the comments about the UKG...i am a member of said garrison and was there at the weekend. the crew who wear the black t-shirts are there to provide safe movement for those in costume. Some of our costumes are worth thousands of pounds and many of the stormtroopers, vaders etc, dont have good vision in the helmets, especially if someone is kneeling down or is small. Mostly they can only see in front of them. They need clear access to be able to walk about. I know as ive been a spotter that weve tried the polite "excuse me please can you move aside" DOESNT WORK! no- one listens. You have to be fast and sadly forceful " move aside" etc,BUT weve never pushed anyone out of the way unless their safety was in jepordy. Some people just dont move even when theres a stormtrooper bearing down on them! those guy's armour can hurt you know! We are invited to the show to add a little extra to the event plus we raise money for charity via our photostand. The majority of people told us how much they like us being at events. Many of the guests wanted photos taken with us. We raised a great deal of money for our various childrens charities over the weekend. For what we had to put up with ( we require some basic things at big events, which were not provided)we did a damn good job!
3. Awe thanks sweetheart!! good to see the presence of the garrison was noted in the many pics here..although our actual Obiwan will be a bit upset hes been upstaged by another Jedi!! lol good new event for showmasters have to say too!
4. Awe that is sooooo cool, the guys will be chuffed!
5. great revue Cher..and i heartily agree with it in many ways as also do not think of Collectormania as a convention, but as an event. and thanks for all the kind words about the UKG...we did our best and raised a good sum but we didnt think we do that well cos of where we were situated. The problem is we need a large space for a changing and storing area and that was the only area available. Myabe next year they could place us in amoungst the guest tables...and spread them out more....but with a venue like that shopping centre it is a problem. I also think we raised the amount we did with unsuspecting shoppers suddenly coming face to face with a stormie or vader himself!..oh and our Ewan
6. yep common occurance lol! Sometimes we go with it other times we dont lol
7. We often have a lot of fun with our Ewan..hes been stopped in restaurants and asked for Autos all the time lol! the UKG btw is associated with but not part of the 501st. 884030 Wow....well you all did an amazing job. I hope to see you all at GMEX...I might be able to tell you that in person next time ~Tink 884235 Sadly i wont be at that but im sure some of our boys will be!

9. the wookie was not part of us. that costume is a Rubies costume and not something we'd accept. 877498 Wow, I'm surprised that he wasn't in the Competition, then! Actually, I didn't think that he was part of the Garrison - someone told me that he was... I don't think you guys have a Wookie, do you? 877696 not yet

11. Awe thanks hun, that would have been me!! Yeah have to say there were some great cosplayers in attendance this year. the little C3PO kid on sunday was fab as was the various LOTR costumes. have to say we at the UKG arnt actually Professional, we dont get paid to do these events. But have to say we raised over £700 for children in Need from the photo stand we had!
