Im just wondering how all you lovely people will be getting there?? I was thinking about taking a friend (so she can drive, cheeky huh?) But at this rate I will be lucky to get just 1 ticket out of my OH so it will likely mean going alone by train or coach? Anyone else going by train? Anyone know what the prices are like and how easy it is to get from the train station to the venue for the directionally challenged like myself?

From Birmingham International Train Station, it's literally a straight walk through the NEC which is attached and then follow the signs to the Hilton.

OR

Find the phone between Subway and WHSmith at Internation train station and you can call for the shuttle bus that will take you to the hilton from just outside the train station/airport :)

I recommend using websites like RedSpottedHanky or trainline to find the cheapest prices, when you book certain time trains, it reserves you a seat on the trains and makes it cheaper :)

I and my friend and cousins are going by train :) We could try arrange so we get to the station at the same time and meet up? Walk over together?

Prices etc I guess depend on where you are coming from?

I've been having a little look online for you through curiosity AllAboutAlice and the prices will go down when the event is 12 weeks away so if you start looking online now, don't panic that it's like £100, it WILL go down! Look into booking your travel at the end of September :)

Averil if I am definitely coming I would love to take you up on your offer, it will be my first ever con and going alone.

Tantalizing Twilight, so glad prices will go down, its expensive right now, thanks for the tip re booking through RSH or trainline too.

Google maps was not clear either, I thought it would be a right trek but it obviously doesn't show that you can go through the NEC so YAY at least I wont get lost.

allaboutalice are you on fb? closer to the time we can sot out meeting at the station.

It will be my 4th con so I know my way from the station without getting lost! It is a short walk really :)

It will be my friends first time at the con too. And your more than welcome to hang out with us for a bit.

I usually book my train tickets about 6 weeks before we go. I recommend picking your tickets up from the station on the day though.

The last convention I lost my train tickets and had to buy more!!

And I use the trainline and scroll through the ticket prices until I find the cheapest.

I had better go I can hear my 1yr old terrorizing my 8yr old??? :uhoh:

I'll be driving up, so usually get there for about 12. I've said to Averil about meeting in foyer of hotel where we can all gather from our respective journeys and catch up/be introduced to each other.I have a newbie coming with me too. Perhaps we can have a group piccy then as well?

We'll introduce you to all our friends (including members of the MJV's - explanation to come later! ;) ) and then PAAAARRRRTTTTYYY on!
