i know how hard it can be to get major twd guests (great job on getting Laurie Holden by the way) so could we get some TWD cast with smaller roles at LFCC? For Example:

Austin Amelio

Merritt Weaver

Madison Lintz

Jeryl Prescott

Travis Love

Alexandra Breckenridge (she is AMAZING by the way. nicest lady ever! probably the nicest guest ive met!)

Tovah Feldshuh

Austin Nichols

Emma Bell

Jordan Woods-Robinson

Andrew J West

etc etc

PLEEEEEASE *does puppy dog eyes*

Jeffrey DeMunn is anything but a small Walking Dead guest though (and THE Walking Dead actor I want to meet the most), I also think Merritt Weaver probably doesn't count as one (she won an Emmy not too long ago).

As for small Walking Dead guests (no main cast), I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Emma Bell and Madison Lintz!

Jeffrey DeMunn would be a dream guest for me personally.

that would be amazing but apparently he doesnt do many cons any more. something about him not being able to handle crowds as well as he used to, which is fair enough.

would still love to see more TWD guests added. Laurie Holden's announcement had such a positive response and i'm surprised there hasnt been one or two more cast members added, even if they are only smaller roles. there are also plenty of the cast who have appeared in other shows who would draw in crowds too.

its very dissappointing to have such a HUGE show represented by very few guests at SM events.

There are HUGE shows that have far less representation at SM events than TWD do. At least there have been a decent amount of them over the years.

I'd say some fanbases have had it far worse.

then maybe get some guests from those "huge shows with less representation at SM events than TWD" then? if fanbases are far worse then shouldn't it be a mission goal of a company that says it makes the "coolest collectors fairs in the world" to get those people from "Huge shows" to attend? not only do the fans get to meet their heroes from those shows, but it also makes people pass on the fact that showmasters managed to get so and so from such and such and that's made them want to attend the convention.

im not expecting the guest list to have as many TWD castmembers as other shows; such as Doctor Who or Game of Thrones, that would be ridiculously expensive for you guys to pull off, and yes, LFCC has had twd guests in the past, im simply saying that with The Walking Dead growing as big as it has, and with such a big cast as it does im surprised that there is not a bigger representation of the show on the guest list for LFCC 2016 so far.

Besides guest availability - which may absolutely be a reason especially for no Walking Dead bookings, but I can't discuss further what I am hinting at without breaking forum rules - there's things to consider like is a guest feasible.

Indiana Jones would be freakishly popular, but if you google you will easily see what Harrison Ford charges for private signings. As for TV shows think of How I met your Mother, Big Bang Theory or CSI - the actors make/made that much per episode that unless you got a promotional deal with the production company it is probably impossible to book them.

Getting good promotion is one thing, possibly losing a lot of money over it another one. Just look at the Michael J. Fox announcement thread last year, how many "I wish I could afford it".

Long before Walking Dead there used to be a show named Stargate SG-1. Bear with me, I will get to the point. :P It was very popular at that time too. I remember a German event trying to book what you would consider a smaller guest. I happen to have seen the contract negotiations for this one. The fee plus the extras his agent demanded came up to 80 percent of the contract offer for one of the main series regulars, ridiculously popular at that time too. That smaller guest the show was so popular, he thought he could get away with it.

There are simply way too many things to consider, and 95 percent of these things we will never know about because it is behind the scenes negotiations that can't be made public. Still you keep acting like SM are ignoring Walking Dead on purpose, which they are most definitely not doing.

fair enough, i appreciate you explaining things, QS, however i do have a couple of comments regarding your post.

There is a HUUUUUGE difference between Harrison Ford (a global megastar; a huge part of 2 of the biggest franchises in movie history and lets be honest, a complete badass in real life as well) and someone like Austin Amelio; a relative newcomer to mainstream tv and who has been in 4 episodes of a tv series.

You mentioned the Michael J Fox announcement, which was another HUGE name. lets be honest, the members of this forum went CRAZY when he was announced. it was a wonder-announcement, much like Sigourney Weaver or Stan Lee in 2014. These people are all incredible guests, and you guys should get some serious recognition for getting them to attend, however, comparing cast members from TWD with smaller roles is a bit of a reach.

In 2014 you guys had 4 TWD guests, 2015 you had 2 (plus Emily Kinney unfortunately had to cancel so round that up to 2) i got autographs from all of them for less than what it would cost to meet any of the big names. that is not a complaint, thats a simple case of the bigger the name the bigger the pricetag. Im a simple fen boy but even i know that.

in fact i think the most i have paid at one of your cons for a TWD auto was £20-25 for Jon Bernthal at WLFCC 2013 (my first con).

These guests arent huge names. They arent global megastars or the leading men and women of the show. im not asking for you guys to get andrew lincoln, lauren cohan and danai gurira to attend (however, if you ever managed that i would buy you a pint!) im asking for the smaller guests. the kind you guys get lots of from other shows, and at previous events have got lots of. those £15-£30 guests are what keep me interested in your cons (not just TWD ones, GoT, Firefly etc are favourites of mine too)

like David said, you've had a decent amount of them over the past few years. its odd seeing just the one for this summer.

regarding your last comment saying that im acting like SM are deliberately avoiding getting TWD guests, i have NEVER said or implied that. ive openly (both on this forum and on social media) said that i wish other things got fewer guests to allow for more diversity between shows, but ive never said "showmasters dont want to get guests from the walking dead"

i appreciate how much work goes in to getting guests to your events; especially those who travel from overseas, i just wish that there was one or two more from The walking dead attending the next con.

anyway, cheers for the reply QS. nice to get a reply about something from someone who wasnt being sarcastic and snippy.

It is over 2 months to go to the show. There are plenty of guests left to be announced. I have no clue if someone from Walking Dead may come, but the guest list is far from finished. Just be patient, you may be happily surprised.

we can hope. :)

I just personally don't see the point in the same messages being posted over and over. It's not like every convention organiser doesn't know TWD is popular or anything. There's so much that goes into organising these events and getting the guests that most people don't even consider. Constantly posting about the lack of guests from your favourite show does make it seem like they're not trying.

People are always going to be more difficult to please if they only want guests from one thing. The fans happiest at these events have really diverse tastes and meet lots of different guests.

If TWD was a show flying under the radar and unnoticed by SM then I'd get the constant bumping etc but they KNOW it's popular. However it's down to availability and cost and all that. They have to make those decisions as to whether those that can attend are worth the fees etc.

and i personally dont see the point of "OMG WE HAVE A BIG GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT IN 4 DAYS TIME" threads. we all have seen how they can go wrong so i dont see the point in doing them, but that doesnt stop you from posting them though, does it.

im keeping it to one thread. im not spamming the board with individual guest request threads. im not posting "i want twd" on other threads that aren't relevant to guest suggestions. so what is the problem? plenty of people post suggestions who are impossible to get. A list megastars who are all but impossible to book.

like you said before, there have been plenty of TWD guests at previous cons. that has set the precedent. like i said, at the moment there is just the one and im hoping for more.

The Walking Dead isnt the only show i like, however guests from other shows that i like often turn up to other events, both showmasters events and those organised by other companies. hell, there are a few on the "maybe im going to meet them" list at LFCC as well. seeing as LFCC is (probably) the biggest event of the year i'd like to think that a few guests from some of the bigger shows (such as TWD) would be on the guest list.

again, QS, thanks for the reply and explanation of some of the background stuff that goes into booking the guests for events. i understand things are difficult to do, but that doesnt mean there isnt a demand from fans such as myself for guests from certain shows.

i know that another TWD guest may not happen, but i can hope. im sure a LOT of people will be thrilled to get one or two more TWD guests. all the ones you've had a previous events that I have met have been the nicest people ever and the highlights of what are usually a good couple of days at a convention.
