AnnaMC
For those who live in London or who are arriving early (I'm arriving on the 9th to see the Museum of London exhibition, visit the Cotswolds, & generally make a lovely vacation of it), Martin Freeman will be at a Q&A for a charity screening of the Eichmann Show on April 12. http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/171037 https://www.facebook.com/EichmannShow It's only 11 pounds per ticket. I've bought two, so if you're going, I'll see you there! :-) Anna

jhw
I really wish I could go to this but ii's way before I arrive. I'm going to have to settle for buying the film on DVD when I do get there (it's being released on the 27th.) Edited April 2, 2015 by jhw

Raylenth
Again, something 10 days prior to my arrival. I would have loved to go, I'm really into WWII stuff ...and...that guy. They played the Eichmann show about a month ago in the UK on one of our main channels so I made sure to record it. It's hard to say that it's was really good given what it's about but it really was, and extremely informative. It was fascinating to watch to see what happened with the capture and trial, to see how it affected people who were imprisoned by the Nazi's and so necessary to show seeing as so many people couldn't believe that the atrocities carried out where as bad as the news/stories had been saying. It showed some footage of film reels that were shown at the trial that has only recently been released because it was so harrowing. That footage was also recently shown on TV and I couldn't watch it it was so horrific. Edited April 2, 2015 by Raylenth

(I know what you mean, Auschwitz is my favourite PBS Documentary series) Do they typically release these things on DVD?
Raylenth
Amazon says The Eichmann Show is out in the UK on 27th April but I can't find the name of the other one I mentioned. Edited: I've found the name of the documentary, it's called Holocaust Night Will Fall. I warn you though it's really really awful, it's the most horrific thing I have ever seen. If you seek it out please be aware that I cannot stress enough how abjectly, appallingly shocking it is. The footage is real from when the allies went into the camps for the first time and is the most monstrous thing I have ever seen. I couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of this. Any one who has seen the Eichmann show will have seen a very small segment of it as they did show this footage at his trial and hence in the background during TES as well. I am not over stressing how terrible the footage is. Edited April 2, 2015 by Raylenth
