  1. We are all assuming that the end of Doctor Who's finale meant that Martha and Mickey would be Cardiff bound. It may just be a red herring. You may well be surprised.
  2. What people, well some, are forgetting is that a BBC spokesperson has said that Torchwood may well be picked up for more episodes and/or mini-series. From that I think that they are possibly arranging it around the Doctor Who specials. Anyway, having a slimmed down version for a year means a potential meatier return when the next series of Who returns.
  3. I think the point was that if the whole race of Timelords, with all their technology* could not defeat the Daleks in the time wars, how could this small group do it now? *In the episode Turn Left, UNIT only managed to figure out the surface technology of the Tardis. If they could figure out all the technology they would have built a Tardis, or number off, for themselfs. And the Tardis is not the only one peice of Timelord tecnology. Just think of all the weapons the Timelords could have had (for example Temporal bombs). What has BBC TV production values between the old and new series got to do with it? In modern day television and film, it is very rare for the past to be taken into account when rebooting a series like Doctor Who for example. If sacrificing a few little bits of accuracy means something looks more modern or better for the viewing public, then to hell with the past. That is what BBC Production values and forgetting that the Daleks were a kicka*se empire has to do with it...in my opinion that is.
  4. They can say he runs on Duracel batteries, meaning he has 6 times as regenrations as any other Doctor.
  5. Having two Doctors leaves it open to future storylines. And with Rose alive, it means Billie Piper could return after having her baby. The days of big sacrifices like you mentioned are long gone in my opinion. TV, Films, Sport etc are controlled too much by money. With more people alove means more money spinners. Sad, but true. As regards your idea about the Earth or His Friends..you had better TM that as BBC might nick it.. A.
  6. The second Doctor and Rose going off was far from a happy ending. The Doctor virtually begged her to save him (No.2) as she had once saved him. After kissing No.2 she ran after No.1. What is happy about that? You have The Doctor alone again having to give up the woman he obviously loves; and you have Rose stuck with someone who looks, acts, sounds and knows everything like The Doctor..yet isn't him. It would be like kissing the twin of your girlfriend/boyfriend and thinking about your girlfriend/boyfriend. The fact that Donna allowed The Doctor to take away everything she had experienced with him was a hug sacrifice. Death isn't always the way for a noble - pardon the pun - sacrifice. You also had the sacrifice made by Donna's Mother and Grandfather who couldn't talk to her about any of it otherwise it would kill her. They made a sacrifice. As regards the half dozen amateur space rangers... 1. Martha Jones has obviously learnt alot from the Doctor and her time in UNIT. 2. Rose Tyler has learnt alot from her time with The Doctor ann with UNIT in the alternate reality. 3. Captain Jack runs Torchwood. Enough knowledge there. 4. The Doctor - duh! 5. The Doctor No.2 - duh again! 6. The Doctor/Donna - has all of The Doctor's knowledge. 7. Micky has obviously learnt alot from his time in the alternate universe. 8. Sarah Jane - again, another companion with tremendous knowledge. 9. Rose's Mum - well, she was told not to touch anything I think that they had enough there to defeat the Dalek Empire, especially in the modern day Who which has a much more detailed emphasis on technology. The ramshackle sets have gone. Also, the more you face an opponent, the more you learn. Also, Caan turned on the Daleks. I must agree that the German Daleks were excellent. Watching Nick Briggs do it at the read throgh table was hilarious. Anyway, excellent end to an excellent series, and I actually felt that the comic face off between Doctor No.2 and DoctorDonna was just right.
  7. I saw this new one last night. Twas great...
  8. The darker Hayden was shown in a national newspaper a week or so ago. I must say that I prefer the darker look.

    Dr Who ?

I can't remember seeing an advert for the Christmas special last night, but I just caught the last 10 minutes of the BBC3 broadcast and it comes on at the end. Cybermen are back - already guessed this from the YouTube trailer. Mind you, I was surprised that there wasn't a "What? What?" line from The Doctor at the end leading into the special etc at Christmas...
  10. As soon as he was traded to Smackdown it was just a matter of time before he was released. Smackdown is in the beginnings of a huge push for it's upcoming move to MyNetworkTV in the Autumn. He had no feud and Smackdown seem to be trimming the non entities of it's roster. This will just be the start. Especially seeing as ECW makes the split with Smackdown in September to go on the road with Raw.
  11. What complete numpties. Moaning because the phone number didn't connect. I also like the fact that the number of people moaning because the finale didn't match what they wanted in a "screw you other fans, I want it my way" kind of way. You have this every finale of every programme. Yawn.
  12. Despite someone's obvious dislike of Noel Clarke, it does seem that both Mickey and Martha are heading to Cardiff for the forthcoming Torchwood 5 part mini series. Oh, and although I adore old Who, I must say that a number of previous Doctors hammed it up as they were directed to as I am sure Noel was. I think that your dislike for NC is a tad harsh, but I guess that will mean one less Torchwood viewer if he joins then?

    Dr Who ?

Excellent episode, and the Rose/Half Human Half Time Lord Doctor scene was as well done as it could be within the storyline. It was explained well in my opinion, and gets rid of the second Doctor and Rose with both open to a future return. I think it also opens up the possibility of the second Doctor, who can now grow old, be the one to turn up on the doorstep of the future River Song who I now beleive is Donna Noble - both had red hair. As many questions it answered, it also left many unanswered.

    Dr Who ?

There is footage of DT on set, so I cannot see the BBC doing mock filming to hide a new Doctor. The BBC are in enough trouble for wasting money on expenses etc, so to do mock filming would be mental. Watch repeats!!!
  15. I will be watchign this in the privacy of my own bedroom with the mobiel off and strict instructions of DO NOT DISTURB
