I was on Ebay today looking for items from the Comic Con that is going on over in the states and then thought I would have a look see if anything had been listed from the LFCC and low and behold someone is selling their Christopher Lloyd autograph! And look how much it’s going for

Item number: 250273061795

So everyone that wondered if it was worth while financially meeting the Christopher Lloyd the answer is yes! Although I will never sell mine or any part of my collection, it's interesting what prices they do fetch!

£25 really was a steal for our autos then!

I'd never sell any autos I got from a guest, although I never begrudge anyone a profit if there is someone willing to pay them for something, personally I'd feel like I was cheating the guest when I met them.

That's not the only thing that has turned up on Ebay, the cloth wall panel from the Enterprise from the Patrick Stewart talk is on there as well.

Item number: 160265875157

Thats understandable though as we had to pay for the talk and usually we dont. And its just something they gave us, it not quite the same as selling an auto as it's not tied to a particular person. It's starting price is £25 - I'd be very surprised if it got even more than just £10. What did people think when they first saw it anwyay?

That's why i don't understand actors that refuse to do personalizations..

If i were an actor, i'd insist on personnalising everything, as after, it would be harder to resell on ebay...

I would never buy anything labeled "for George, or "for Amanda"...

I have been to conventions when guests have insisted on personalising an autograph, I have then seen people that they have obtained the autograph standing around the corner removing the dedicated name. I think they can be removed with something like polish I guess it also depends what the item is they had signed

I know for one that Alison Mack (Smallville) always insists on personalising.

It is good to see how much they go for. My in-laws are always moaning saying, "ooh, I don't know why you waste so much money on these autographs"

Maybe now they can see what a bargin we got they might shut up about it!!

I would never sell mine but as I keep trying to tell them, financially they are a good investment!!

I have to admit I try to get all of my autographs personalised. As soon as I heard he Chris and Patrick Stewart were not personalising I expected to see items on ebay.

There will always be someone looking to make a profit........the Ferengi's of the fan world :P

Don't think it'd work on a photo though.. would probably eat through it/make a mess/smudge... don't you think?

Well, i mentioned to the woman sitting next to Patrick Stewart (he was not yet there, otherwise i wouldn't have dared to say so in front of him!), that i found the "no personalization rule" a bit odd, as it would be easier to put them on eBay later (and saying that's why i always got mine personalized), and she said "yes, i know, but he never personalizes" and she shrugged :)...

I was even telling her i'd be ready to queue twice, once for the signature, and once for the personalization (to avoid the "it takes more time to personalize" comment) but she said it was no use...he wouldn't do it anyway. Bah, too bad!

No, it does work on photos. Either nail polish remover or some special erase pens that you can buy in the USA.

If you apply too much of the nail polish remover you are correct, it will destroy the photo or at least eat the glossy surface. And some pens are easier to remove than others. The metal sharpies are easiest to remove, and the smaller the pen the more likely it is there are scratch marks left behind on the pictures.

I asked once on an autograph collectors forum how to remove a smudge on an autograph, and I got a full blown advice on removing inscriptions. It did work on the pen smudge, but it was kind of scary to see what people got removed from their photos.

Good to know in case i get smudges on my autos... (i got a small one on my Devon Murray's one, last year....)

Wonder if it would work on the picture signed by Ethan Philips (he found funny to draw a dick on it, next to Kes's mouth)?

Though i kinda like it this way, it prevents me for putting it on public display...

Well the Christopher Lloyd autograph eventually for £77

Good for them. I've said it before, but if I could be sure such things would sell when I listed them, I'd buy a few spares for selling. It would pay for my one, and towards the transport and accomodation costs. I'd still never turn a profit, but it would finance my attending the next event.

So sure if you are spending all that time queuing for for 1 autograph from Chris, then you might have well have got more than one. If you could afford it.

He would of got through even less in the day if he'd dedicated them all!

Charming.

I suppose it would be worth a try if you really want to get rid of it. But it sounds like this "master piece" is in quite a central part of the photo.

Well Kes is on the background when Neelix is on the foreground. So it's not that "central"...

Was a part of the "free auto's pack" i got with my Gold pass...

They were lucky it was me who got it (found it quite amusing).... imagine it would be someone that would be shocked by such things, or a kid who would have got it (as a bday present, for instance?).... what then?
