Unfortunately, after much sole searching, yesterday we came to the sad conclusion that we must cancel Hallowhedon 7, as there just does not seem to be enough of an audience to make the event even close to being viable.

All ticket holders will be refunded in full over the next few days.

We are very sorry to those of you who had bought tickets, and in addition to your refund we will be sending you out in the post a gift by way of apology.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who supported Hallowhedon over the years. You were all a great bunch of people who definitely knew how to party!!!!!

Take care,

Mark

** All refunds bar 1 have now been processed (Albert Gawler), with either cheques in the post or bank transfers having been completed. If either of you are reading this, or if anyone happens to be in touch with these people, please ask them to contact us.

Thankyou for your patience.

Thanks for updating us, Mark. Not surprised after what I'd been hearing over the last month or so, but very sad.

If you ever decide to resurrect Hallowhedon or a similarly-themed BtVS/Angel event, though, I'll be there. And with the right balance of guests, I'm sure plenty of others will be too. Hope you try again sometime.

I am very sad but not surprised to hear this.

I don't agree with ME that the audience is not there. There is another Whedon event three weeks after Halloween which is selling very well. Why? Because the guest lineup was announced with some reasonably big names and fairly regular updates. Hotel details and party themes announced in plenty of time.

If ME had put in the effort, advertised and given people a reason to book tickets it would have been another great event. I do feel we have been let down alittle, I do hope the guests will make another appearance soon.

I would certainly go if another Whedon event was held, because I am convinced that if done properly it would be a success. Just like the other Hallowhedons were.

Really sad to have this confirmed but cant help but feel like Daniel and others that there was little effort made this year to encourage sales. The fans were here but were awaiting updates and hotel codes after last year which unfortunately never came.

I have loved all 6 of these events and will be very sad not to be going this year, it feels like the end of an era but some great memories.

I am very disappointed as I had been looking forward to the event since buying my ticket at HW6, but thank you for giving us the update on the situation.

I attended two Hallowhedons and I thoroughly enjoyed them, I have some great memories from them. As a few others have said, I would be happy to go to another Hallowhedon (or similar themed event) in the future if you decide to run it.

Well said Daniel. Don't kid us. There is still a huge market for a Buffy/Angel event but it has to be done right with a few big name posted early on. If you build it they will come :) but don't blame it on lack of an audience because it's simply not true

It is very sad to hear that this event has been cancelled. I was hoping to come to the event for the first time this year but i had other commitments. Does this mean that yo will not be running another Hallowhedon event next year?

After attending the past 4 Hallowhedons, I had every intention of coming this year with a few friends, but we were waiting for the bigger guests to be announced before buying tickets. I disagree that the appetite wasn't there.

Just one big announcement several month ago would have turned this event around and made it as popular as last year. I really think that's a fact.

Please try again next year, but make a big announcement earlier. Alyson Hannigan is doing cons in America this year!

I'll be making a start refunding the electronic purchases on Saturday. All refunds will be sent to the card you used via the online shop.

Anyone who paid on the day (in cash or by card) needs to email the shop address with card details I can send the refund to. Feel free to split the info if you're concerned about email security. I only need the full card number and expiry. We don't need extra details for most refunds, no CVC code for example.

Thanks, Yvie. I paid on the day (G2! That's the second time I've had an amazingly low number and had the con cancel on me *sniff*), so have emailed you.

Will the gift Mark mentioned go out around the same time, or is that still being determined? (I'm guessing you didn't know about that either!) I can do fine without one, of course, but now that one's been mooted I'm all curious as to what it is. ;)
