  1. I've got an agent myself and get quite a lot of work! I worked on The Water Horse and some other movies, TV Shows, Adverts and Music videos. It really isn't glamorous in the slightest! There's long hours, endless waiting about and you're required to work at all times of the day and in all conditions... I even ended up hospitalised with Pneumonia after working on one production! You say about not wanting to pay a fee to agents! My agent is one of the largest in Scotland and I pay about £30 per year but there's nothing to say that you have to pay that as equity don't really allow it! This fee is to ensure my inclusion on the website and in the brochure which gives me a better chance of work as casting agents can see a picture of myself and I may fit the part that they're wishing to cast, rather than the agency just picking at random. An extra part is more acheivable as they don't require any real acting talent (and I can say that cause I'm one myself) whereas you may just get your foot in the door with an audition but you would need to knock their socks off! (Does anyone still use that metaphor?) I'm working on a movie over the next few days up in Inverary in Scotland. Don't know the name of it yet but I'm apparently playing a world war II soldier! Check out my IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2237091/ (There's a few more titles to add, including New Town Killers with Dougray Scott which I worked on last week!) Any more info just ask.
  2. Driving from Aberdeen?!?! I'm in Cumbernauld and I wouldn't even attempt it! I'm either getting the train (get the Daily Record... they're talking about an offer of £11.50 each way nationwide) or flying with good old Easyjet to Luton and getting the bus from there! From your sig I'm guessing this isn't your first event! I'm coming down for this one... my first since Glasgow last year but prior to that I'd class myself as a bit of a SM's veteran! Should be good! I don't think you'll have a problem but like everyone says, get there early! And if you're thinking of wearing a costume I'd recommend shin guards and elbow pads cause it gets a bit crazy sometimes!
  3. I think John's a lot more popular now than he was at LFCC after Torchwood and the whole Joseph/Maria/Oliver thing but on the other hand he is more expensive now at £20 an auto! Like DB said you can't guarantee anything at these events (especially with the super-crazed fans) but I would think you'd be okay to get John's auto!
  4. Hi! On my first trip to MK I ended up at the coachway and it is quite a distance from the Centre. I remember getting a shuttle bus to 'The Point'... I think this is where you're thinking of, Lizzy. It wasn't free though it was quite cheap. I think the 'free' part of the park and ride is the car parking tbh but there are regular buses into the Centre.
  5. It is a bit of a gutter but look at it this way... would you rather meet Michael at CM13 and have Lex not be involved in the season 7 finale of Smallville (which is sure to be a belter) or wait a few months and see him at CM14 when you'll be able to talk to him about the season 7 finale?!?!? The defence rests your honour! BTW... to further re-inforce my claim that the final episode of Smallville Season 7 will be fan-frigging-tastic the title of the episode is actually called "Superman"! (Not a spoiler since it's the published name of the episode and it could mean anything! I don't know any more than that so don't ask! ) I also feel a bit sorry for Jola... credit card refund woman to the rescue yet again!
  6. From BBC News: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgo...est/7330203.stm City to host Doctor Who exhibits A major exhibition celebrating the TV series Doctor Who will come to Scotland for the first time next year. The show will feature many of the props and costumes from the most recent series, including the Doctor's famous transport, the Tardis. A fee will be levied, but has not yet been set by Culture and Sport Glasgow. The exhibition, which will be staged in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum from next March until the end of 2009, is currently on in London and Cardiff. Doctor Who's adversaries - the Daleks, Cybermen and Autons - will form part of the show, alongside other creatures such as Slitheen, Oods and the ever-faithful K9. In addition, props will be added once the episodes they appear in have been broadcast. It will be the latest high-profile exhibition to come to Kelvingrove, since it reopened two years ago following a £35m renovation. Kylie: The Exhibition, which was a free event, attracted more than 165,000 visitors in just four months. Bailie Liz Cameron, the chair of Culture and Sport Glasgow, said: "I am sure Doctor Who will inspire the next generation of visitors to Glasgow Museums. "Our ambition to maintain Kelvingrove's position as Scotland's number one visitor attraction remains a priority as we enjoy unrivalled success. "Because it is the only Scottish destination for the Doctor Who exhibition, we look forward to welcoming visitors to Kelvingrove from all over Scotland and beyond."
  7. And now a series regular in 'River City' (Basically the Scottish version of Eastenders)! I do extra work on the show and it's pretty good. I'm sure you can get it down south on BBC Scotland through Sky... Lorraine Kelly watches it religiously! Lol! You may need a translator though!
  8. How AMAZING was Crime traveller?!?!? Seriously! One of my proudest DVDs and I've got like 1000!
  9. Three words: Build, Ensure and... punctuation! The event looks really good guys. Wish I could make it. Have a good one. Adam
  10. At Glasgow the free £10 auto was Jimmy Vee, so this time round my money would be on Richard Cant, or Tom Palmer, but I don't know how that works as they seem to be attending with Fantom Films. Aside from those I would think it would be from Nicholas, Frazer or Terry.
  11. No, thank you! I had a great time crewing both days! I was just disappointed I couldn't go to the party, but I'll make prvisions for that next time! Everyone was so good and being a guest assistant on my 1st day was really good, Katie was soooooooo nice! Davey was really good and even knew my name from the outset which was scary! lol! And thanks to the pit bosses at the guest area: Donna Chris and Julie! You guys made my 1st event really enjoyable and made sure I knew what I was doing! Thank you Showmasters and I'll see you at C:MK! Unfortunately I can't make it to LFCC next weekend which will be the best ever!!!!! There's also one young lady I hope goes next time as well! lol! Thanks again everybody! Adam
  12. hi adam any help would be great especially if we will struggle for public transport, how can we get in touch with you to organise a lift? thanks steve You can add me to MSN or e-mail me and we'll sort something out. You can get my add by clciking on my profile name.
  13. Hi, I'm crewing at the event and stay in Cumbernauld, so I could prob help you out both days. The Red Deer isn't really anywhere near a bus stop or either of the train stations so it would be quite a trek, or a taxi, for you to get somewhere to get a bus or train into town then another bus out! I will need to be at the arena for 7:30am Saturday and 8:30am Sunday and I'll be leaving at around 6:45pm both days. If this suits then give me a shout. Adam
