Hi! So, my friend and I will be attending and I was wondering if anyone had any hotel recs? Preferably close to the venue and affordable :P

Will you be on public transport or is there a driver amongst you? Personally whenever I'm stopping away from home I use a combination of Late Rooms, Booking.com and TripAdvisor.

We'll be using public transport. I wanna try and get somewhere close to the venue so we don't need to worry about taxis and whatnot too much. I'm thinking I'll probably use laterooms :)

As it's at the NEC you can either stay at one of the hotels on site (which can get full or expensive, or be a surprisingly long walk from the NEC), or somewhere near one of the train stations that is connected to Birmingham International Station. There are several hotels near Birmingham New Street (which is in the town centre so plenty of places to get supplies from) and is a 10 - 15 minute train journey from International. I've stayed in a Travelodge near New Street before which was just fine. For CM I'm at a hotel right by Canley Station, which is about 15 minutes on the train from the other side of International so might be worth a look.

Oh, they were full before this CM event was announced. I got an email in November from another event (that is happening at the same time) warning about them (there was a increased usage due to the event getting bigger each year, as well as a 4-day Take That tour at the Genting Arena).

In the email they suggested to look at hotels near New Street Station, in Coventry and in Solihull.
