What pen

Guests will have their own Sharpies with them, but you can always take your own just in case they don't have the colour you want. They usually carry black, silver and gold as main colours as they pretty much go with any item colour.

When I met Billy Dee Williams his silver pen was running out and he was cursing it when signing my metal poster. Kinda wish I handed him mine but it still came out.

I take my own retractable sharpies as you don't worry about the top. Also having a selection of about ten different colours gives you better scope on what colour to use. Depends on background or what the main character is wearing. My war doctor figure signed by mr hurt in bronze sharpie looks totally awesome imho. Looks even more impressive now i have it signed in gold by Paul mcgann. Nothing worse than a dark photo or a dark area signed in black that is a no no.

Mentioning no names but a guest in the summer did more or less that and unless you the photo in a certain way you can't even tell it's been autographed  Someone also mentioned to me in one of the queues back in the summer that somebody else had signed in a dark place on the packaging of something with a black pen so didn't really show.

Depends what you are getting signed really. I had a spell of taking my own pens to get things signed in different colours from the normal blue, black, silver and gold. Also tried with the paint pens for a bit, but they were unreliable and tended to either not work or make a splodge !

If you'd like something signed in gold or silver, I'd definitely bring your own Sharpie if you can - some other metallic pens can take ages to dry, and some seem to rub off quite easily (could be an issue if you have to roll up a poster, for example). I'm sure there are some other good ones, but best to be on the safe side!

Sharpies are what they normally have on the table.

Showmasters provide quests with black, blue, Sliver Pen. Sometimes there is an odd Gold about. These pens are Sharpies.

They are tested at the end of each event but sometimes the odd rubbish pen gets through. The Guest assistant (GA's) will help advise the guest what colour to use on what picture.

GA's will also usually test the pens before the start of the day to stop rubbish pens getting on your picture. If you're autograph hasn't come out properly the GA will usually be happy to switch it out for a replacement. Just ask them before you leave the table. Once you leave the table we can't help.

Hope this helps at all.
