Redescovering Stargate sg-1

So I used to watch it every sunday on channel 4 round my nan's house...she was a fan I believe (yes really). Then they stopped showing it on c4 so I managed to get a few dvds before we finally got cable tv and I could watch it on sky only for them to be showing a different season to what I'd got up to. Anyway what I'm saying is first time round I watched episodes all in the wrong order and I think I got up to end of season 8 then gave up trying to find the right episodes in all the higgldy piggldlty reruns.

Recently due to being really bored one day caught the 'best of' all day reruns of stargate and it reminded me how I liked the series. I'm now wondering should I just buy season 9 & 10 rather than trying to guesstimate when they'll show them on sky? Dr Jackson is my fave character on it... ;)

Stargate SG1 is just the perfect show to binge watch all day...

The show goes through a major reset at the beginning of season 9 so if 1 - 8 is fresh in your memory, then get a hold of S9 & S10 boxsets and maybe carry on from there and do it that way.

The story in your head wont suffer from you not remembering 1 - 8 well, due to the major changes S9 begins with so id start there...

Frankly, I welcome any excuse to start from the beginning again with SG-1, as its truly one of my favourites - and leads seamlessly into Atlantis with the Season 7 closer "Lost City" crossing over.

And then of course, theres Universe leading off from the end of Atlantis too so....!

There's 17 seasons of worm-holey goodness waiting for you if you plan to watch them all!! Enjoy!

With Atlantis, you're really in for more of the same - just in a different galaxy and with a different team but still, theres an overall 5-year story arc that does pay off in the last ep. so its juuuust different enough from SG-1 to keep you going.

From there, Universe takes it in a whole different direction with the funny antics of SG1 and rubber-faced aliens of Atlantis being gone, and replaced with a kind of darker, survival of the fittest type storyline set on board a Stargate ship - and Robert Carlyle is just outstanding in it. Such a complex character.

Neither shows disappoint really - apart from the unresolved cliffhanger at the end of Universe due to its cancellation.

So in my opinion, its definitely worth checking them out in order after SG1!!

Just stay away from the dodgy Stargate:Infinity cartoon and you'll be fine....

Yeah, and at first, she really only served as a tip of the hat to Farscape fans, with Ben Browder being there, really.

She takes the "female lead" for the first few eps. of S9 cos Amanda Tapping (Carter) was pregnant in real life, and then...

Well, i wont spoil what happens...

But by the end, it'll feel like she belongs in the show after all - and she grew into one of my faves tbh.
