I went and it was very good, he covered a lot of ground from hsi early days training with at Farnborough with the British Test Pilot school through his NASA career and beyond. He talked for about an hour or so then took questions, ended up lasting about an hour and a half.

He said he had only been asked to do the talk that morning but he did turn up with a mac laptop with a presentation loaded onto it which he said they couldn't get to work, so I'm not sure if he decided to do a talk earlier but forgot to mention it to anyone!

Couldn't say for sure how many were there, but of the three talks I went to (Carpenter, Worden and Fighter Pilots) it seemed to be the busiest but there was still plenty of room. There was a £10 charge for non VIP ticket holders as with all the talks but all things considered it was good value.

To be honest I would have missed it as well if I hadn't noticed his name on the list when I was booking the Carpenter and Fighter pilot talks.

Which Fighter Pilots talk? Sunday? If so, were you the one asking most of the questions?

I hear Al's talk on Sat was a 90 minuter.. and was surprised to see him down for another on Sunday. Mind you, he did have a VERY good night on Saturday..... I hear they needed TooTall to knock on his window around midday, as normal methods failed to raise the Kracken.. :D

I think there was a fighter pilots talk on Sunday but I went to the one on Saturday at 1pm, didn't ask any questions though. Usually figure others will come up with better things to ask than me!

I think Al coming down this morning after clearly having such a good night was great, my only regret is he didn't do it rat pack style still wearing his dinner suit from the night before with a couple of dolly birds on each arm!
