MY feedback AND huge thanks to Lou and Rhea :)

After an interesting time in my life recently I decided to come along to this event, my Friend drove us up, left the car in the carpark whilst I came in and my Friend and his daughter went off into that London, it was very nice to see crowd control/security both inside and out and (from my perspective) just how well organised it was.

My first port of call once inside was Ralph Macchios line (I personally thought he was possibly going to be in a Princess Fisher type booth) I was VQT 6. Then went off to buy a photoshoot ticket for him and after a bit of looking around I went back to his line- obviously he was a very busy guest indeed and I had a really pleasant time with meeting him, I started to ask if he would mind putting a certain quote on my Karate Kid DVD boxset- thats when he chose one that he preffered and so put BOTH which was very nice and signed where I kindly asked him to sign, whilst at the desk I asked him for a certain request pertaining to our photoshoot together? A smile instantly erupted on his face along with a a very positive answer- THAT smile alone said a great deal.

Afterwards I went looking around, and saw some frikkin cool cosplayers, INCLUDING Barf ("Not in here mister, this is a mercedes!") from Spaceballs. a female Freddy Krueger who looked really cool and then made my way to photoshoot c my number was quite high so was thankful I was allowed in the line :) Then about five minutes later a VERY nice crew member, Ria saw my walking stick* and ushered me right near the front of Ralphs line, I was extremely and still am very grateful for this really nice gesture. Whilst in line I carefully took out a certain something that was going to be in the pic with Ralph and I, this brought about quite a bit of attention with others in line and I said how I wanted the photoshoot to be original.

We then went into photoshoot c and was told that Ralph wouldn't do the crane kick position- which to be fair I can't really blame him for, but it was nice to have that disclaimer before going in. I put all my bits and pieces (apart from the very special prop) with my jacket, bag etc. Then went up to Ralph and....

We both held my Bonsai Tree :)

Afterwards it was off to Stage 1 for Chris Barries talk, and another Very nice crew member Lou saw my walking stick* and offered me a chair to sit down on whilst waiting to go in. So grateful for this :)

Once in Chris' talk the question came up about the new series of Red Dwarf- was very grateful for the answer he gave to my question :)

Then, afterwards I went looking around again, met some cool guests and went back to Stage 1 for Ralph Macchios talk and then after after, Alan Rucks talk.

When I met Alan there was that moment which doesn't normally hit me but it did when I met him and I told him so, how that Ferris Bueller is a movie I used to watch semireligiously (just like Karate Kid) when I was younger and it was a very special moment to meet him. He was so nice and kind and downright approachable :) Certainly (as with Ralph) up there as one of my favourite Guest meets:

To be honest, I found this event to be a very comfortable time, it wasn't so busy that we were so hot and practically fainting over each other, lines were very manageable, and was easy to get from A - Z without bringing in riotpolice, watercannons and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds, it was nice to take a leisurely stroll around.

Also, I've been attending these events since 2010 and in that time I've made Friends due to this, and its now gotten to the point where even more people stop me and say "Hey King/King Richard/Richard!" whether it be for the first time or the second, third, fourth or indeed fifth and its ALWAYS nice to have that level of familiarity with others whether they be crew members or fellow attendees - it makes it more than a signing event, it makes it a much more personal/albeit sociable event and thats something very special.

Yes, there was an issue with a price of one autograph- which I've already spoken about in the relevant thread but overall I had a really smashing time :)

*I've had my walking stick since 2011 this is due to having a foot that really started to play up in 2010 when I used to do premieres and if I'm on it for too long then it does get quite uncomfortable/even painful. In 2012 I was offered surgery on my foot (but after memories of having procedures from when I had septic ingrowing toenails I am naturally very squeamish now about any other kind of medical work being carried out on my foot- I'm actually being honest with myself now- #Wow) Anyways, my walking stick helps me out a great deal and thats enough for an old fart like me- I suppose if I ever broke a leg then it would be ok to shoot this old codger in the head LOL :) BUT seriously, I am exceedingly grateful for both Lou and Ria for their true kindness and making my time on Saturday a GREAT DEAL more comfortable :)

I sat next to you in Ralph's talk on Saturday, always nice to see your passion and enthusiasm for these events and certain actors, and never comes across in a bad way. Your question to Ralph was clearly sensible and well thought out.

Just as an aside, what was the answer about further Red Dwarf? I missed his talk sadly but had begun to think we'll never see it made (again)

Many thank yous, I do deliberately try to veer away from any questions that may possibly make the Guest feel uncomfortable and always like to make my enquiries interesting (sometimes humorous) and able to generate wonderful anecdotes. Admittedly it was nice of him (with answering my question) to mention the great/late Pat Morita :)

He said that apparently a new series will be shot around the latter end of next year for it to be transmitted around Easter of 2016.

N.B. My question to him related to the episode of Red Dwarf which I saw being filmed in 2012, and added to it the fact that Saturday was two years to the actual date that it first aired. #Jesus
