  1. Is she due to do any other events in the UK soon?
  2. I saw on another forum a LFACC visitor say "saw Kate Mulgrew - didn't even get eye contact" And that about sums it up. Polite, but by the time I got there there was a "no posed photos" sign. To be perfectly honest with you I was surprised that she even signed up for the event, and when I got there she was up to ticket number 650 which is a lot to get through in a few hours. I was delighted to meet her, but a smile wouldn't have gone amiss! Especially for £20.
  3. Ooh... looking forward to seeing you! Wanted to ask you a few questions... but I already have your auto ... can I come visit anyway?
  4. OK, my first showmasters event was C4, and I got all the Hobbit sigs (if you include Serkis - he's a demi Hobbit) and then settled down in the evening to a good couple of hours of entertainment by ElWood (as he calls himself) and Sean Astin. It totally made the event for me and (I thought) represented excellent value. Especially with the film - but Elijah was so chatty he (almost) had to be dragged off stage kicking and screaming - ages after the event was supposed to end...so late that I had to leave the film half way through. I have also been to the LFACC, that was much less fun, somehow I didnt think that the guests "clicked" the same (although it was outstanding when Serkis did his auction) but because the event was not including a film etc etc it was £10. And I even went to a Red Dwarf talk at that show for free! All in all it wasn't bad value at all. I think it's much better value than the autographs myself
  5. Cambridge University (please don't call it Uni - it's not a poly!) is pretty much the centre of town - there's no campus as such but departments are mingled in with shops. I have done the trip to Collectormania from Cambridge three times now and it depends how confident you are at driving but an hour and a half should cut it - on the way to C5 the heavens just opened and we aquaplaned on the way there -fun fun fun! There's about 100 roundabouts on the way into the Centre MK which is fine but remembering which way you came on the way out- next time I intend to leave an indelible track of breadcrumbs so that we can find our way out. You can also catch a bus, but it takes about 2.5 hours I think! If you are a nice person, i.e. not an axe murderer then you can have a lift with us, but we like to be at the event early - I think we left at 6-6.30 last time. If you feel iffy taking a lift with strangers then ask Ben/Samwise16 for a reference, I believe he's big on this forum but is away in Stevanage for the summer (without the internet so has been a tad quiet). We are giving him a lift to Memorabilia this weekend - if he survives the trip I am sure he'll recommend us nah we are good friends really... honest!

LOL! Fame at last! In the worst pic of me ever OK OK I am not photogenic but crouching down in front of a dwarf shaped man doesn't help! Oh and I do have to say, had John Rhys Davies not been available for LOTR, I reckon Brian Blessed could have been a great replacement!
  8. Sandals? He was wearing flip flops... what does he think this is... summer?
  9. I thought looking at the forum that there's a distinct lackj of background pics - or pics of guests without fans next o them - so here goes C5-Saturday
  10. Meeting Brian.. the saga Follow the link for extensive pics!
  11. LOL the queues even on the Saturday were fine, not that bad. I hardly waited more than 10 minutes for anyone wexcept Brian Blessed who was a lovely chatty chap! I guess that's because the qulity of the LOTR stars is not so high as last year... well I mean Brad Dourif is great... but some of the others were very obscure!
  12. Hmmm, they weren't even Lord of the Rings top trumps??? Oh the shame!
  13. You are totally right, I can live without the photo - exciting new giveaways huh? ANyway totally amazing show - I think the acoustics for the talks were a lot better at MK being in the cinema and in enclosed spaces but the overall show was much better
