hi all

ok we are going back to the MK Shopping Centre for another event

its been a long time in coming and we are now back with a great show

now its not going to be the same type of a show as Collectormania as we cannot get the big guest to work well in a shopping centre as Collectormania did out grow the venue so this event is going to be different to Collectormania in many ways , and as such thats why we are going to call it by another name Memorabilia Expo as thats what is it going to be , the best place to buy Collectables and Memorabilia

250 stands with some great collectables

this event will have some new things that are very different to any other show

as well as the much loved TV and Film collectables we want to bring in other things that people love as well

Music and record Memorabilia.

Move props and costumes .

General Memorabilia

trading cards and collectable cards

Retro collectables from the 60s 70s 80s and 90s from chopper bikes to space hoppers .

Computer and hand held games for the past .

prints and limited editions

Autographs .

Movie posters and 8x10s

books and games

sci-fi collectables

Toys from the past .

Posters and photographs .

first day covers

limited edition prop and replicas

we do plan to have around 4 guests a day at the show but they will be people that are a bit more unusual and relate to this show more , people that had a major part in creating the past as well as media related guests .

Celebrities from the music world.

Display zone, where there will be something large and retro such as a life size vehicle.

Displays of private collections for the public to view

we think this event will turn into a really great place to but some really cool and amazing collectables and Memorabilia.

we also plan to have experts on had to take part in valuations of members of the publics Collectables and Memorabilia to help them find out what something it worth and we will also have experts on hand to help authenticate autographs and also help give a price to you can find out what something is worth

all in all the best place in the UK to fine the things you love .

so it will be like Collectormania with out lots of the guest but with much more for the true collector

we will be working on getting the best of the best stands at this show so you get the chance to find that amazing item you have been looking for ;)

we look forward to seeing you all there

If there's going to be anybody there selling old original Fillmore and Avalon posters, I know a couple of people who'll be up there like a rat up a drainpipe; one of my friends dropped about a thousand bucks on several pieces last week, and he's always looking for decent stuff, as are another couple of my friends.

This is clearly a much smaller event, local to SM, and aimed at a slightly different Market. Not the guest driven fans, but ones interested in merchandise.

Yes, I realise a lot of stuff can be purchased cheaper elsewhere, especially online, but I personally enjoy being able to discuss with dealers, see the product in person, and a lot are open to price negotiation anyway. I've purchased a number of American blu rays etc which they were willing to price match with online stuff etc.

I don't think an event like this is going to have a huge impact on the rest of the con lineup, especially when we're not getting another MK event anyway?

The dealers will do well with all the passing trade that the shopping centre generates.

I'm guessing that for those of us who travel long distances for these events, unless there is something in particular we want to buy or one of the small range of guests appeal, then i presume most will wait until the next big show at Olympia.

And for all the locals its win, win win.

i hate to point this out to you guys but isnt the name of this event virtually the same as held by the riavl company in bham and telford? im just thinking it could get very confusing as i thought you had joined together when i read it......

just an obsevation

I'm sure they are well aware of the similarity. Indeed they've probably had to reduce the banned words list to even mention those two.

It probably does them no harm, if SM do a good job the new attendees will seek out other events with similar names.

Fantastic, I'm so pleased the event is going back to the shopping centre!!!

At least now a decent place for a cup of coffee nearby after the long journey!

Only four guests, so what? The stalls are still there, and the displays as well. Hopefully the old Doctor Who models will be on display again as they were a few years ago, and maybe some from other shows as well (I was very disappointed with my recent visit to Blackpool to find the old exhibitions have all GONE!)

On top of all that, it'll be indoors, so we won't have to suffer with the cold winds, or the terrible smell we had at the Stadium last weekend.

I will be bringing the extended family along as well, they're not mad on the event, but they love the shops!

I have been going to Showmasters events almost since the beginning, but have never felt the need to POST on this forum before - read it, sure, but not post.

But the news of this event has made me so happy I have to say THANK YOU SHOWMASTERS.

Over the years I think the dealers have become a bit rubbish - too many 10x8 photos and trading cards! I want proper stalls for proper film collectors - books, CD's, posters, props, etc. And my prayers have been answered. I am so happy. And back to the shopping centre rather than the horrible stadium. Double thanks.

;)
