Just in case that either B or M would join... I think about The Hobbit steelcases (sacrilege!) :)
It might not fit perfectly to Sherlock - but I'd like it a lot.

On the other hand I've got a 120x80 framed canvas which might be de-framed to be signed.

What are your plans?

I've been starting to give some thought to this. At the first event I got individual publicity 10x8s and started a multi-signed 10x8 of the Baker Street door. Regretting not getting a bigger version of that now as there isn't masses of room left on it! I think I'll get 10x8s of the new individual guests again and the new ones on the door picture as well, but not sure what to do for the ones I already have. I'm thinking about trying to get the poster for the cinema release of The Abominable Bride, although it's not my favourite episode of Sherlock by any means, it has Natasha O' Keefe in a fairly central position, plus as it has a white background there will be a decent amount of background for signatures to stand out on it.

Go for it! I know it's a Sherlock event but that doesn't mean you can only have Sherlock items signed! ;)

Last year I started 3 items for full cast signing. I've got a His Last Vow metal poster that I'll get signed by Wanda, Timothy, Amanda, Yasmine and Ben And Martin if that's ever possible. The other is the Sherlock Chronicles that I will add all this years new guests to, and the 3rd, which I've had unframed is just a generic Sherlock pic that I also want to add all the new guests to, but as it's only A3 I don't want it to be too full and over busy so may just leave it as it is.

My current dilemma is that I've bought one of these:

s-l300.jpg

That I was going to start and get everyone who had been in that on it, particularly seeing as we have Mark, Una and Rupert again and I got them on everything I wanted last year. However my minor melt down comes from the fact that everything I currently have signed is either episode specific, or too small for many signatures; with S4 coming up, we will have a whole slew of new actors in it, and if there is another Sherlock (And there's no reason to think there won't be) we might get them as guests. This means I'd have to start another poster to fit them on.

So I went out and purchased this today:

poster-sherlock-london-1433577.jpg

As it's big enough to use for multi signing, now and any future guests. However I don't love it.

I prefer TAB one, I like the muted colours and it's got lots of room for signatures. I could pay a little more and get both posters done but that means I've just got more and more items I'm ever hopeful of being able to get Benedict and Martin to sign. An almost impossible task I think

The only other option is like you've suggested, buy a big version of the door:

lightbox_97551_1456795111.jpg

And go for that instead.

With regard to your suggestion, I do like the cinema TAB posters and you're right about the colour for sigs.

Anyone got any comments about my 'issue' (other than 'shut up' of course  )

It is a difficult one, I got my copy of the Sherlock Chronicles signed by a couple of guests at the last show but I made a decision that I was going to keep that just for behind the scenes people so I got it signed by Steven, Sue, Mark and Arwel last time. I'm trying to stick to that one though, up until recently I used to collect all my Star Trek autographs in a hard back book and frankly I got sick of lugging the damned thing round with me!

The difficulty I have with a lot of Sherlock pictures and posters is that they mostly just feature Benedict and Martin which is all well and good but if it's not possible to get them on it, it can look a bit odd (just my opinion of course!) that's why I went with the door image, I figured it's not character specific do its not the end of the world if they aren't on it.

The other Abominable Bride poster I've seen is one that's done in the style of the Basil Rathbone era posters. That one also has pictures of Amanda and Rupert on it and as I quite like the 1949s films it does seem like a good one.

Decisions decisions!

With the exception of the leads - who for me last time were Benedict, Mark, Loo and Andrew - I got everyone to sign my Chronicles. I think I'll have to do the same this time for the people who weren't there last year, apart from Amanda. I think I'll get her to sign a 10x8 perhaps showing her and Martin, and hope to get Martin to sign it too at some point in the future. For Natasha, and others I got to sign last time, I think I'll also go for 10x8s bought on the Friday evening. I have no time to go shopping for stuff and nowhere nearby that I'd be able to get the kind of merchandise you guys are talking about. I'm really still a novice at this sort of thing - Sherlocked was my first ever con, and I'm not a fan of anything else in the con world!

Oh, and I am trying to find a way to bring the sleeve for my limited edition vinyl soundtrack album, to get Michael Price and David Arnold (hero) to sign - some kind of rigid case is required. Any ideas or experience on that, folks? It needs to withstand being transported on an intercity train in my suitcase.

I'm in the same boat, trying to decide how to handle the autographs. I did a poster last year that I'll take again this year to get all the new people who haven't already signed it. Plus I just got an Abominable Bride poster (the one that's a mid shot of Holmes and Watson.) Then I picked up a third poster, an older, more generic one of John and Sherlock from when they first issued posters.

So because I have my husband in tow, we get two autographs from everyone. I want to keep the Abominable Bride one for people who worked on that episode, and then those who weren't will be on the other two.

For anyone doing posters... Please allow me to suggest: BRING A POSTER TUBE WITH A CARRY STRAP. I had one last year and it made things SOOOOOOOO much easier. I saw a couple of people last year who were struggling without one. You can get them at art supply stores and they are nothing short of magic.

For flat items, there's this kind of thing https://www.amazon.co.uk/Exacompta-32-Portfolio-Elastic-Straps/dp/B004GV0V2Q/ref=pd_sim_21_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=J5DANXDCC52QVXBMQXC4 I bought one from Hobbycraft but I can't find it on the site to link it. It's very solid and I keep the A3 sized pictures that they had at Sherlocked last year in it.

Thank you for the reminder jhw, I wanted to get a poster tube as last years carrying solution won't work this year as it broke!

There are no stores near me that sell anything fandom.None. I resort to ebay and Amazon.

Office supply stores and some craft stores sell small flat hard side plastic cases of various sizes that work great for carrying autograph items to and from cons. They're also great to protect your photos.

Re the chronicles, seeing as I got everyone on it last time I kind of do want to continue though yeah it is a pain to carry. You are right bout the posters/pictures - there are a lot out there that I simply don't like, they are either too close in on MF and BC, too small, ect. I do prefer a nice generic picture but it's really hard to find anything that's good quality, a decent size and a good picture.

Most things can be purchased on line, if you do a search for Sherlocked posters/pictures you will find a few places that sell them. Amazon,Zaavi, ect have been good sources at various points.

I think I'm going to need to work on my documentation - I need to finalise, as much as possible, my list of who I want to sign what and I can look at the options. If I lay out all my pictures as well I can consider between the 2 what my options are and try to work out the best way forward. I might buy the door poster in the meantime just in case.

I'm off to do a bit of internetting before bed, thanks for suggestions so far. If anyone knows of any specific products which are intended for 12" vinyl, do let me know.

They make something similar for scrapbook papers. They're 12"

Forgot to say last night 'thank you so much for posting that' As they aren't on the guest section of the website nor on here I had completely forgotten that they were coming. I had a quick look at David's work on ITunes last night and apart from the stuff he has done for Sherlock, a lot of which I love, he also did my other favourite programme Stargate!

So at least I'll remember now to talk to him about it

I've found a picture I like but to get it a decent size and adding shipping on it'll be about £50. It is nice though and it's an artist designed picture so it'll be different from the standard poster.

Just debating on whether to get it for that price!

If you have somewhere to hang it, then why not? The problem I have is that I have a house I share with my non-Sherlock-obsessed husband, so it's not really fair to have all my Sherlocky stuff around the place; not to mention that it just doesn't really go with our decor and collection of antique engravings! I try to keep it all confined to my home office - which is fine, as I spend most of my waking hours working in here - but with massive bookcases I don't have a lot of wall space, especially for bigger items. So I'm trying to keep all of my signed stuff small and contained, which is a challenge in itself.

Thankfully I don't have a restriction on what I can put where. In my small spare room I already have my huge signed The Imitation poster up but could certainly put another couple of large ones up in there. My bedroom currently has 4 A3 BC signed pictures up as well (jeez, typing that makes me think I might have a bit of a problem) but I may swap them around occasionally.

It must be a bit of a pain of you are confined space wise.

Hi!

I'm just bringing my "Sherlock Chronicles" book. Inside the front cover is full, so this year's autos will go in the back. I'm hoping to get Arwel to sign it, as I never asked last year.

Hi Maggie, I'll just point out to save you from any possible disappointment that we don't know if Arwel will be there. I'm presuming he won't be though, he hasn't been announced and from the production side this year, apart from Stephen and Sue we do have Michael Price and David Arnold. I would assume on that basis that Arwel won't be there this year.

Not to worry! there are lots of other guests I haven't met before, and plenty of space in the book.
