Just over three weeks to go....

Recommended Posts

I thought Showmasters were trying to grow this event? Last year there was just over 30 entertainment (aka non wrestling, artists etc) at this event and at present there is 21. Im loving the already mentioned line up but I have a friend who has gone with me the last three years and so far no one is tempting her to come. I know guests can be announced right up to the event but isnt it getting a bit late on in the day now?

Last year I was underwhelmed with the guests attending. This year however I'm currently annoyed that I didn't save more as at the moment I can't afford all the autos that I want. As probably the only person in the world who doesn't like Dr Who or Game of thrones, the line up so far is perfect for me.

I personally wouldn't mind a few more horror guests or even a few more classic WWF wrestlers to be honest.

It's all subjective, really. A rubbish lineup for one person will be a great lineup for someone else.

I'm personally only meeting one guest so far, which is unusual for me so near to the event. I'm hoping some more guests will be announced soon.

As David B has said, guests can and will be announced right up until the event, so once the LFCC clean-up is finished (hopefully soon if not already), I suspect the guests will come rolling in for Glasgow.

There are significantly fewer guests than last year so far, so I'd be surprised if this is it. Don't lose hope.

I notice a bunch of guests getting added to events around Glasgow daily (some big ones as well)

Why is Glasgow forgotten about? I thought with the success last year this would be bigger and better (you did say that yourself)

Just like every other thing up here, Scotland doesn't get much and it's always England that get everything :3

It's frustrating that we have fewer guests than other events, but this can't be totally blamed on SM.

It's partially down to the availability of the guests, so it might just be that we've been a bit unlucky with who is actually able to attend.

I can't say I'm personally happy with the guest list so far, but I know other people who are delighted with it - it's all subjective.

Besides, we still have a while to go until the event. I'm sure more guests will be announced soon, and if not we can all revolt afterwards!

If any SM officials are reading this, some more guests would be nice. Lots of people are unhappy with the guest list so far.

EDIT: Fewer, not less.

What is happening with this one? It started so well and I was amongst those actively promoting it but the last couple of months hasn't seen the guest total increase at all and as mentioned before the event is around 11 guests short of last year. I thought this event was being grown - not reduced

Showmasters are still working on guests. Sometimes the negotiations don't go as expected and it turns out guests are not available for a weekend.

Same story as every event, same as every time that someone things an event is being neglected on purpose. I really can't tell you anything else than putting on the same old record again.

I'm seeing guests announced daily for Sheffield and Bournemouth, but again, none for Glasgow,

Come on guys, one guest can change it all, i thought it was getting bigger and better, not the opposite :/

I thought we get a least other couple of Guests from Star Trek and one of The Doctors like Colin Baker. But i agree with the above this event this year has got sadly Smaller. After last year show been biggar than other shows in the past i thought this year would be the same.

Well i've just put together my list of what im doing on both days and the first time ever im not at both days until around 12pm. Quite seriously disappointed at how sparse this event is looking this year. Is this one being wound down or something?

No matter how many times that question comes up the answer is still the same as given by David in post 2 and by myself in post 17.

So how come 200+ guests are available for LFCC in July, but so few are available in August? I think it's a case of SM being vigorous with populating their flagship event (London) but just adopting a 'see what happens' attitude for the smaller, less well-attended events.

London has been going on for several years and as you say it is the flagship. Yes, the flagship of a fleet is always bigger to begin with. If you expect Glasgow to become a second London (especially overnight) you will very likely find yourself disappointed.

Shows need to grow. Sometimes the steps are bigger, sometimes they are smaller. But I guess we can keep repeating ourselves until we are blue in the face about that.
