The Dexter Series

I was just wondering if anyone else has read the Dexter book series? I was also wondering if you have read them, and watched the show too, which you preferred?

 

I've just finished the third book and I have to say that although the book is good, it's definitely one of those rare occasions where I've found that I actually prefer the TV adaptation. Personally, I usually find that the books are better than the films/TV shows so I was suprised to find this with Dexter.

Hey. I've read one or two of the books. Like the books more than the show. Hate it when they significantly change a story for tv. i guess you would know about the Doakes change?

Got some more at home to read and i've only managed to watch seasons 1 and 2. got too much to read and watch :)

I usually hate the changes they make to stories too but I thought that they padded up and added a bit more to the storyline, specifically series 1/book 1. I think the series was great, and although book 1 was good I definitely preferred the show. I don't know, maybe it's because I watched the show before I read the books?

I usually read the book first, but I honestly hadn't known of the books until I was about half way through season 2 of the show and I friend said "Oh, the books are good too" and I replied stupidly, "what books?!"

lol :) i'm a big book person and only have terrestrial tv so had plenty of time to hear about dexter and realise there were books :)
