The Park Inn has always been phone bookings only. I did check the website and it also specifically says "call the hotel" for this event too.

Details of the hotel booking and cancellation policy can be found here: http://www.massiveevents.co.uk/middleearth/info.php?venue

If the event is cancelled you'll receive a full refund.

Please call again on a weekday. The weekend staff has been a little confused about those bookings in the past, and it does look like you got one of the "not in the know" people too.

Hmm... I've been to the first Chevron as well, but honestly speaking I can't remember how I booked. Too many hotels and too many events. I was going by the old forum posts and they had no booking codes for online booking.

But right now it is definitely phone bookings only like the link says.

I have booked online previously (not for a long time though). I think on one occasion I noticed that there was an option for a code. I can't recall if it was Park Inn Nothampton or Bedford.

Edit: I think it was marked as either 'discount code' or 'promotion code'

I have just bbooked my room deposit taken balance to pay on arrival

Balance to be paid on arrival. I thought Park Inn didn't let you do that? When I went to Bitten I had to pay upfront.....

Mark and Jason have negotiated the deposit thing since then, with so many attendees having difficulty everything upfront. Hub 5 people paid a deposit to stay in the Northampton Park Inn for Hub 6.

Reservations told me that you pay the deposit which i did for 2 nights £20 and they decided that on "this" one the balance is paid on arrival.

I was very very specific and must have asked her 3 times is she sure that the balance is on arrival and she said yes. After the 3rd time i think she got a little pxxxxx with me for reiterating the question!!!

I don't know whether David wants to check with Mark or Jason but I can only go off what I was told!

I have asked for my deposit and reservation number to be emailed which i have not received yet, will chase up tomorrow and update what the reservation says, unless someone has a confirmation email booking?????

Sorry booked over the phone.....

Although I was also told to pay a deposit and the rest could be paid on arrival, I paid up front as I'd rather know that the money's gone at a time of my choosing than have a nasty surprise as happened last year. I can't blame the Park Inn for having previously wanted the balance in advance after the Eclipse issues, but unfortunately not all the staff seem to know that the policy's changed. So if you do pay just the deposit, keep a close eye on your account, just in case!

  • 1 year later...

If you tried to book online you wont be able to as Massive Events will have block booked the rooms for the convention. You will need to call the hotel directly on 01604 739988 and tell them you're attending the event. It is my understanding that the Park Inn take a 25% non-refundable deposit when you book and then you pay the rest when you're there.
