teabelly83 Posted June 27, 2015 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Just wanted to say a big thanks to a few of you guys for giving me the low down on the golds, all you who posted about them know who you are so thanks for convincing me! ive never done one before and with this lineup getting bigger and better it started to become an essential thing if i wanted to fit in all my shoots, autograph sessions, aswel as doing any talks and some shopping on the stalls. I saw that they were sold out and couldnt believe how lucky i was, i most certainly got one of the last ones as i ordered it around teatime friday evening....call it luck, call it karma...sorry ghostbusters rant. With my list growing, and having an mjf shoot booked too, its going to definitely make my weekend alot easier and less stressed i feel, so i just know come monday when i leave i will know its been money well spent!! The countdown rolls on...so excited!! My list so far.. I only have a few booked this time as I am testing the waters as this is my first con. Should be able to get what I want to do with time to spare. My list thus far: Lea Thompson photo shoot (should be straightforward as she is not a diamond guest, but a diamond all the same). Neve Campbell photo shoot (should be straightforward for the same reasons. Another diamond. Love Scream.) Christopher Lloyd photo shoot (no diamond pass but gold should mean I have a good chance of success). Sigourney Weaver photo shoot (no diamond pass but with gold, can't see this being an issue, esp. as the shoot is being called in batches). Robert Englund diamond (had to get a makeup shoot with Robert). Michael J Fox diamond (once in a lifetime so meant had to get diamond). First time gold for me and after initially thinking I wouldn't need it I'm now glad I forked out (and a little relieved....) I'm not seeing as many guests as you guys but this will make sure I can do absolutely everything I need to in a much quicker time and I think the chill out room may be a god send if it's as busy as we are all now anticipating. My list..... MJF - Diamond Sigourney - Diamond Bill Paxton - Photo and auto Ray Park - Photo and auto Chris Lloyd - Photo and auto Iain Glen - Photo and auto Charles Dance - auto Malcolm McDowall - auto Hayley Atwell - photo and auto Carried Henn - photo and auto as part of Sigourney diamond package Trevor Steedman and Colette Hiller. You will be absolutely fine, especially with a gold, as will everyone with any ticket. All it will mean is a slightly longer wait. Most of my guest wants aren't diamond. I wanted a relaxed, enjoyable day in the sense of not running around like mad trying to fit everything in (have a feeling that's for next year..) Got a gold pass however, so this list will actually be very easy to do, that's why I'm hoping for more announcements still. Last year my list was slightly shorter, but had all the "big" guests in it and as you might have noticed, in this year's list all "big" guests are absent in it, as none of them are interesting to me. Last year I got through my list easily enough to still sit in most of the talks as well and I had more then enough time to browse the stalls, etc as well. Well seems like that they changed the product from May need to Will need. Which shouldnt count for People Who bought earlier, thats not The product they bought. I personally thinks it is bad that Gold Pass holders would need a VQT. Its for diamond guests that The big value comes in. My bet (and this really is just a guess) is that there will be somewhere between 1000 and 1500 gold passes, but that sounds worse then it is: Not every gold pass holder will have the same photoshoots as you, nor get them on the same day. Not all gold pass holders will race to get everything done on the friday either, since they have a gold pass they can pretty much do anything they like at every possible time due to the nice priority you get with shoots and no VQ tickets. The only thing I heard from SM is that there will be less gold passes then last year, and last year it was already very doable with that pass, so don't worry about the numbers. Last year they passed the gold passes around in the queue before opening time. They'll most likely do that again this year. Goodie bags were distributed inside and that was really the only frenzy that I ran into, as yes, all gold pass holders do want their goodie bag on the friday. Just walk past the line to the front and tell the person managing the queue you got a gold pass and they'll get you in before the rest of the queue of non-gold pass holders. Exactly if the gold pass number is the same or even less than last year I imagine it will be fine! I managed to get everyone I wanted with no trouble.
